Mercure Roma Delta Colosseo

"Good hotel right near the Colosseum"
I stayed at this hotel for five nights in November 2025 during a sightseeing trip to Rome, and it proved to be an excellent choice. The location is unbeatable—just a three-minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum, with two metro stations about 10 minutes away and numerous bus lines stopping right in front of the hotel. Piazza Venezia and Via del Corso are also within walking distance, allowing you to see most of Rome’s major sites on foot. The hotel features a rooftop bar with fantastic views of the Colosseum (closed in winter) and a small swimming pool. After reading reviews about potential traffic noise, I requested a quiet room on a high floor and was pleased to receive a prompt response. My room, 716, was top floor with no street noise, and the hotel honored my request. There was minor noise from adjacent rooms due to the hotel’s unique window structure, but it was not a significant issue. The room itself was comfortable, with a good mattress, clean facilities, and everything functioning well, though the shower was a bit cramped. Some unusual architectural features, such as a concrete column near a window and surrounding curtains, were slightly odd but not disruptive. Breakfast was a standard continental offering; while the variety was not huge and became a bit repetitive by the fifth day, the selection of pastries and cakes was excellent for anyone with a sweet tooth. The two hotel lifts could be slow during peak times, especially in the mornings, so requesting a lower-floor room for easier access might be wise. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel combines a strong location with comfortable rooms, good amenities, and attentive staff. Special thanks to Valeria at the front desk and Andrea from the breakfast room for accommodating my early breakfast on departure day—truly appreciated. A very satisfying stay in Rome.
"Discreet with aspects to improve"
My overall rating for this hotel is average, considering the cost relative to the amenities expected from a 4-star property. The first room we were assigned, a Superior Room, was very small and awkwardly laid out, featuring a separate shower with a door opening directly into the room and a French door leading to a locked gate accessing external stairs. The reception staff were very kind and helpful, promptly arranging a room change for us. The room in general had a very small wardrobe, suitable only for a short stay. The bathroom was also quite small, with a sink positioned uncomfortably low. The wall-mounted hairdryer overheated and blocked after five minutes, requiring multiple breaks to dry hair properly. Breakfast was served in a small room, and in the mornings we often had to queue for a free table. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, the mattress was comfortable, and the breakfast was hearty and varied. The location is convenient for sightseeing in the city. However, given the price paid, I had higher expectations, and if I return to Rome, I would consider exploring other options.
"Good location"
This hotel is perfectly located next to the Colosseum, with the metro just two minutes away, though we managed to explore everything on foot without any issues. The surrounding neighborhood is pleasant and offers good dining options in the evening. The rooms are quite small and minimally equipped—a kettle is provided, but there’s no coffee machine—but the bedding was comfortable. The breakfast buffet is standard, offering a mix of sweet and savory options, and the dining room is spacious enough to always find a seat. One downside is the strong, omnipresent perfume in the hallways, which could be bothersome. The staff were very helpful, kind, and could speak a little French. Additional amenities include a rooftop bar with views of the Colosseum and a very small pool.
"Great Hotel"
An excellent hotel with a well-organized structure, easy accessibility, and great morning coffee. The location is superb—just a few meters from the Colosseum and close to two metro stations, as well as convenient access to Roma Termini. Overall, a stay here is definitely worth it.
"Great stay with a stunning Colosseum view"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Roma Centre. We opted to pay a little extra for a room with a view of the Colosseum, and it was absolutely worth it—the view was spectacular and truly made our stay feel special. The hotel itself was excellent: everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. While it is a bit on the pricey side, the quality of the rooms, service, and overall experience justified the cost. The location is perfect for exploring Rome, placing you close to all the main sights. Overall, the Mercure Roma Centre is a great choice for anyone looking for a memorable stay in the heart of Rome.
"Just What You Need for a Hotel in Rome"
A strategically located 4-star hotel; just what you need for a convenient accommodation in visit to Rome. Also importantly, the staff have been very helpful and friendly throughout my 7-day stay. Many thanks to them!
"Perfect location, ideal rooftop pool."
The hotel’s location is ideal, making it easy to get around the city and offering breathtaking views of the Colosseum—sunsets here are truly an Instagram lover’s dream. While some areas of the décor could use a refresh, such as peeling wallpaper and a watermarked sofa, thoughtful touches like complimentary soft drinks helped compensate. The staff were incredibly helpful and even delighted my son with a small cuddly lion, which made him very happy. Regarding the pool, while some reviews mentioned murkiness, it seemed clean during our stay, and I noticed staff using a cleaning machine in the evening. The pool isn’t heated, so the water is initially chilly, but it becomes enjoyable once you get used to it. The rooftop bar and room service could benefit from a wider selection, though the cocktails were excellent. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return if visiting Rome again.
"What a View"
We stayed at this hotel in September for my partner’s 60th, and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit. The hotel was fantastic—clean, friendly, and offering breathtaking views, especially of the Colosseum. The rooftop pool and bar really enhanced the experience, making our stay extra special. The rooms were compact but comfortable, though the pillows could have been better—one standard pillow and one square pillow made it difficult to use both comfortably. We had two rooms, but for some reason they were on different floors despite being booked together weeks in advance; it would have been nicer to be on the same floor, though this was a minor issue. Overall, three nights wasn’t enough to fully enjoy the amazing weather, explore the city, and relax by the pool—we’ll definitely stay longer next time. Highly recommended.
"Terrace with view for postcard sunsets"
This hotel offers a central location with a rooftop pool and full-service amenities. The staff are highly professional, and basic cocktails are prepared excellently. The environment is simple but efficient, with small rooms that may feel tight for longer stays. Breakfast is served buffet-style and offers a good selection. Overall, it’s a well-run hotel ideal for travelers seeking convenience and attentive service.
"Ok but not worth the money"
We stayed here for three nights, and the hotel’s location next to the Colosseum and the No. 3 tram line (to Trastevere) was very convenient. There’s also a nearby metro stop, and major attractions are within a 30–40 minute walk, though taking a taxi is easier. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offered a good range of options for €16. The rooftop bar provides lovely views of the Colosseum. However, the hotel is expensive (over €400/night) and the room itself was very small, with a hard bed and a concrete column in the middle. We paid extra for a Colosseum view but were disappointed to have small porthole-style windows rather than standard ones. We also experienced issues with our door, though the staff were helpful in resolving them when we got locked out. Overall, this hotel is only really worth staying at if your focus is the Forum and Colosseum; otherwise, areas like Piazza Navona or Prati offer better locations.
