"Poor Service and Unprofessional Crew on Norwegian Airlines"

Norwegian Airlines may offer low-cost fares, but unfortunately, their customer service reflects the same “low-cost” mindset. The cabin crew was rude and completely lacked professionalism or any sense of service. I experienced this firsthand and decided to leave a review—only to discover that many other passengers have reported similar negative experiences. It’s clear that Norwegian Airlines doesn’t prioritize passenger satisfaction, perhaps assuming that being a budget carrier excuses poor treatment. One incident particularly stood out: a passenger was shouted at by a flight attendant simply for boarding through the rear door instead of the front. Her seat was in the middle of the plane, and there were no signs or announcements to indicate which door should be used for specific seat numbers. I only avoided the same treatment by pure luck, having chosen the “correct” door. To make matters worse, our flight was delayed, and not once did the crew apologize or acknowledge the inconvenience. Delays are sometimes unavoidable, but most other airlines at least offer a courteous apology. Overall, I strongly advise against supporting an airline that treats its passengers so poorly.

"A Smile Costs Nothing but Means Everything"

It doesn’t cost anything to be polite or to share a smile with your customers—yet it’s one of the most valuable aspects of great service. Most of Norwegian’s cabin crew are genuinely sweet, polite, and professional, and they absolutely deserve recognition for their efforts. However, it only takes one colleague with a sour attitude or a tendency to treat passengers like a burden rather than valued guests to damage the airline’s overall reputation. It’s a very small investment to ensure every crew member is encouraged and trained to greet passengers warmly, remain polite, and show respect. After all, making people feel welcome and cared for is at the very heart of their role. A warm attitude costs nothing but makes all the difference in how passengers perceive their journey.

"Frustrating Customer Service and Poor App Experience"

Norwegian’s customer service is terrible—endless phone queues and slow, inconsistent responses on their chat support. A simple name correction (caused by their own booking system error) ended up costing me €130 and took hours to resolve. This is exactly the kind of issue that should be quick and easy to fix directly within their app to create a great customer experience. Instead, Norwegian completely fails in this area. At this point, the only real use for their app is accessing your boarding pass. If hassle-free service matters to you, I strongly recommend choosing another airline.

"Poor Communication and Rude Service – Disappointing Experience with Norwegian"

Our journey from Tirana to Stavanger via Oslo was frustrating and stressful. Norwegian failed to inform us in advance that we would need to exit the terminal at Oslo Airport, collect all our luggage, and then check in again for the connecting flight. We barely made it to our next flight—and only thanks to sheer luck. This is not common practice. When you purchase a ticket, it’s reasonable to expect your luggage to be transferred automatically without having to go through the entire process again. To make matters worse, when we tried to raise this issue with Norwegian staff, they were rude and dismissive. On June 24th, we even spoke with the manager at Oslo Airport, who was incredibly patronizing and showed no understanding of our situation. Traveling with a baby is already challenging, and this lack of basic communication only added unnecessary stress. A simple email explaining this process would have made a huge difference. Customer service is a critical part of an airline’s responsibility, and sadly, Norwegian fell far short. Moving forward, I’ll choose airlines like KLM, where passenger care and communication are taken seriously.

"Outstanding Service and Amazing Legroom!"

Fantastic service! Norwegian offers the best legroom in economy—so much more comfortable than I expected. 👏 I highly recommend flying with them. The cabin crew on flight DY1641 from Edinburgh to Oslo was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and professional. I’ll definitely be flying with Norwegian again!

"Hidden Fees and Poor Service – A Disappointing Experience"

What a rip-off. Norwegian seems to have invented a new cabin luggage size, with the conditions hidden deep on their website. During boarding, we were essentially blackmailed into paying 450 NOK (€39) for our small bags. Ironically, the plane was half empty, and there would have been no issue storing these bags on board. (We even measured the bags later at home, and they complied with reasonable standards.) To make matters worse, we had to wait 75 minutes at the luggage belt in Oslo. Passengers from other airlines, who landed after us, received their luggage much earlier. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and I’ll be thinking twice before flying with Norwegian again.

"Easy Booking but Useless Customer Service"

Norwegian may be low-cost and easy to book, but their customer service is completely non-functional. I purchased a gift card from my company for employees but never received a receipt. After spending hours trying to reach a real person, I was finally told that they were unable to help me with issuing one. This level of support is unacceptable, especially for something as simple as providing a receipt.

"Zero Stars – $6,000 Refund Nightmare with Norwegian"

I would give Norwegian zero stars if I could. They cancelled our April flight to Paris due to the pandemic and refunded my credit card in May. Unfortunately, I no longer had an account with that bank, and the refund was sent back to Norwegian in June. Since then, I’ve tried everything—emails, calls (there’s NO customer service number), and even sent them a bank letter explaining the situation. It’s been over 2 ½ months since I sent the letter, and I’ve heard nothing. At this point, I’m despairing that I’ll ever get my money back—almost $6,000! There doesn’t seem to be any way to resolve this with them. DO NOT book with Norwegian.

"Hidden Fees and Rude Ground Staff – Disappointing Experience"

Although Norwegian appears to offer low prices, you’ll likely end up paying a standard economy fare once all their hidden fees are added. They seem to charge for everything in a very shady way. At the gate, they weighed my carry-on bag, which was under 10kg. However, they insisted on adding my small shoulder bag to the total, and when it went slightly over 10kg, they demanded an additional 750 NOK (~$80). I was forced to throw out a few items just to get under the limit. Shockingly, they even included newly purchased duty-free items in the weigh-in! To make matters worse, the ground staff at the boarding counter were extremely rude and unhelpful. On the bright side, the cabin crew on board were kind and helpful, but this doesn’t make up for the overall negative experience. Going forward, I’ll definitely try to avoid flying with Norwegian.

"Amazing Lobby Feature!"

A very cool lobby with the ISS hanging from the ceiling—such a unique and impressive touch!
