"Ab awful experience I woukd not recommend to others"
My journey from Muscat to London with Oman Air was absolutely appalling. I traveled in economy, and the staff were surly, unwelcoming, and seemed visibly annoyed when asked to do anything. The food was lackluster and unimaginative, and it was served by a cabin crew member who had no smile on her face, simply dropping it onto a shaky seat tray—making it nearly impossible to enjoy. I requested a cup of tea, which took an additional 30 minutes to arrive and was cold by the time it did. I would not recommend flying economy with Oman Air to anyone. I’ve written three formal complaints, but the company hasn't even bothered to acknowledge them. It’s clear they don't care about their customers at all.
"Oman Air’s Ridiculous Golf Bag Rules."
I flew Oman Air from London to Melbourne in December 2024. Since I was bringing my golf clubs, I opted for Business Class to take advantage of the baggage weight allowance and enjoy the comfort of a flat bed. However, I was shocked at check-in when I was told that my golf clubs would incur an extra £300 charge because they exceeded the maximum dimensions limit for golf clubs (L+W+D = max 159cm). To clarify, my golf clubs and bag are perfectly standard—nothing unusual about them. Whoever created this dimension rule clearly has no understanding of golf, as there is not a golf bag in the world that meets those dimensions. While Oman Air provided excellent service in many aspects, this absurd policy regarding golf clubs shows they have a long way to go in terms of understanding and accommodating their passengers’ needs. If Oman Air doesn’t want to carry golf clubs, they should simply state so, instead of imposing ridiculous rules that make no sense and are impossible for anyone to comply with.
"Worst economy I have experienced"
This company sucks. For 2 more kg on 60kg allowed i had to pay. With other companies for 2-3kg on 20kg i didn't pay. They want money for everything. Spend more on AirArabia
"Limited Food Option for Business Class Inflight Meal"
Despite reading some negative reviews and booking at a reasonable price, I decided to take a chance on flying Oman Air, especially since I was flying business class and hoped the service would be better. My first flight from Dubai to Muscat went well, so I was optimistic about my next leg from Muscat to Manila. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when they ran out of food options for the main in-flight meal. This should never happen, especially in business class. I had to settle for whatever was left, and the crew explained that they had only received enough meals to match the number of passengers onboard. Thankfully, the return flight from Manila to Dubai was much smoother and made up for that one bad experience.
"Very poor customer service"
I was on a flight that was delayed for more than 6 hours due to technical reasons. During the delay, the crew distributed fliers informing passengers that they would receive €600 in compensation in accordance with EU regulations. Despite several follow-up reminders, I have not received any response or compensation from the airline. I request that Oman Air honor the commitment made to passengers and process the compensation as promised. A timely resolution would be appreciated.
"Great experience"
I truly enjoyed my journey with this airline. From the airport handling staff to the in-flight crew, everything was top-notch. The service was professional and the staff were very helpful throughout the entire journey. The food was delicious as well. I highly recommend this airline to everyone – you won’t regret it!
"Never again"
The level of professionalism with this airline is shockingly low. Don’t expect any customer assistance when calling—they’re rude and completely incapable. I called three times, and each time I was told to go to the airport to upgrade. The website is terrible when it comes to changing flight details. Upgrading online was impossible, even though I had purchased changeable tickets, which meant we had to arrive at the airport four hours early. The ground staff was just as incompetent, taking over an hour to process our upgrade, and then trying to charge full fare for our infant! One of our flights was also overbooked. The business class service was massively lacking compared to other airlines. On one flight, we were told that four menu options were unavailable, but the Omani guests next to us were able to order them. We had to ask four times for the complimentary amenity kits, as the cabin crew seemed uninterested in handing them out. On both flights, we had to remind them to provide an infant seatbelt right before takeoff. Economy passengers regularly walked through business class to use the toilets, and no one said anything. One child ran up and down the aisle back and forth for at least 20 times, disturbing our attempts to sleep, but the cabin crew did nothing. Avoid sitting in row 15 in business class at all costs. I would not travel with this airline again and strongly advise others not to either. Apart from a couple of air hostesses, the majority of the staff seemed indifferent or outright resentful of their jobs.
"Get a grip"
While one female flight attendant stood out for her outstanding attitude, professionalism, and dedication—truly a credit to Oman Air—the rest of the crew seemed disinterested and unwelcoming, which unfortunately undermined her excellent efforts. It felt like some of the staff didn’t want to be there, which affected the overall atmosphere of the flight. I recommend Oman Air consider using anonymous or secret travelers to evaluate in-flight service and consider further customer service training for consistency across the crew. As for the food, it was one of the least satisfying in recent memory. The chicken served with rice lacked sauce, making it dry, and no butter was provided with the bread roll. Frankly, I’ve had better meals on budget airlines like easyJet. I am flying back to London tomorrow and hope to have a better experience. Oman Air has potential, but consistency and service standards need attention if it wants to remain competitive with alternatives from nearby airports like Manchester or Newcastle.
"Racissm among the air hostess"
I am very disappointed with my experience on Oman Air. The flight attendants, both male and female, displayed a very poor attitude. I felt discriminated against, as there was a noticeable difference in how they treated passengers based on their skin color. They showed courtesy and respect to white passengers, but were rude and dismissive towards passengers with darker skin. This lack of equality and professionalism is unacceptable. I strongly recommend that Oman Air invest in proper training for their staff on hospitality and how to treat all passengers with respect, regardless of their background. Unfortunately, I will not be flying with Oman Air again due to the behavior of their staff.
"My flight"
I had a great experience flying with Oman Air. Compared to other airlines, it was more affordable and offered a convenient direct flight. The economy class was comfortable and provided a good overall experience. I would definitely consider flying with Oman Air again.
"Great value for money business class"
This was my second flight with Oman Air, returning from Muscat. I was initially allocated a seat in row 15, which I assumed was in Business Class—but it turns out row 15 is actually the first row of the Economy section, despite the Business Class rows being labeled 10 to 15. It offered quick access to an exit, but certainly didn’t feel like a premium experience. Fortunately, there were free seats further forward and I was able to move without issue. (Tip: Oman Air operates two aircraft configurations—check yours in advance.) This leg’s catering was much better than my outbound flight. I had the grilled fish, which was excellently prepared. The Omani dates and coffee served at the beginning are a lovely cultural touch. Seats are fully lie-flat and come with a quilt-like pad to sleep on—nice, though a bit too short for taller passengers. Comfort-wise, the cabin is configured 2-2-2 across, which limits seat width and makes it feel more cramped compared to the 1-2-1 layout on, say, Emirates’ A380 upper deck. The drinks shelf on the seat was frustratingly narrow—just 80mm wide—barely useful. The crew were efficient, friendly, and attentive—no complaints on service. However, check-in was painfully slow; I was stuck behind a passenger checking in eight pieces of luggage, which took 25 minutes. Be sure to allow extra time for check-in if flying from Muscat. This flight was on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. While it was fine and flew smoothly, I personally don’t find the Dreamliner any better than similarly aged Airbuses. There’s a lot of hype around them, but to me, they feel fairly standard. Overall, I’d rate this flight 4 out of 5—mainly because of the price point. Oman Air Business Class doesn’t quite match the luxury of Qatar Airways (which I find truly impressive), but considering Qatar is nearly twice the price, Oman Air provides solid value for money. You get what you pay for, and in this case, it’s good comfort and service at a competitive price. As a side note: my connecting short-haul legs with Lufthansa (FRA-AMS) in Business Class were extremely underwhelming. You pay premium but get economy-class seating with a basic snack. Honestly, fly economy and grab a burger beforehand—it’ll be better and cheaper.
"Thank you Oman Air"
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the best flight experience I’ve ever had, traveling from Muscat to London Heathrow on 5th March 2024 at 14:10. From start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and professionalism of the Oman Air cabin crew. The team displayed a high level of attentiveness, always with a warm smile, which truly made a difference. The food was delicious, and the seats were very comfortable, making the long-haul journey pleasant and relaxing. A heartfelt thank you to Miss Zoey, Meliza, Mr. Zaheer, and especially Miss Kateryna, whose energy and leadership stood out throughout the flight. Her commitment to excellence was inspiring and a testament to the high standards Oman Air upholds. Though I’ve flown with many different airlines before, this was my first time with Oman Air—and I can confidently say it was among the very best travel experiences I’ve had. I hope this commendation reaches the airline and the amazing crew mentioned. Thank you once again. I look forward to flying with Oman Air in the future.
"Sucks"
This company is terrible. I had to pay extra just for being 2kg over the 60kg allowance, which is ridiculous. With other airlines, I’ve never had to pay for being slightly over the weight limit, even if it was just 2-3kg on a 20kg limit. They charge for everything. It's not worth it—I'd recommend spending a bit more and flying with Air Arabia instead.
"Oman Air- the logical choice."
My flight out from LHR Terminal 4 on March 18th was relatively empty, but the crew still delivered excellent service. Dinner was served within 40 minutes of takeoff and was hot, tasty, and satisfying. After that, we had a chance to sleep, but if you needed anything, a quick trip to the back or pressing the button would immediately bring the crew to assist. The flight arrived early, and getting off was smooth and easy, allowing me to enjoy the warm weather right away. On my return flight, after the chaos at Heathrow, I flew with Oman Air, and I must say, they truly stepped up their game. The flight was full, but the crew went above and beyond to ensure every passenger received top-notch service. The movie selection on both flights was fantastic, with a lot of variety to keep me entertained. Overall, great experience with Royal Jordanian!
Oman Air
Oman was one of the original four shareholders of Gulf Air, along with Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Bahrain. It was the last country to withdraw from the airline, leaving in 2007. Oman Air traces its beginnings to 1970 with the creation of Oman International Services, which initially provided ground handling services at Beit Al Falaj Airport. In the early years, operations shifted to the newly opened terminal at Seeb International Airport. The company expanded its services by taking over Gulf Air’s Light Aircraft Division and launching its own Aircraft Engineering Division. As Oman’s aviation industry grew, new facilities such as hangars, workshops, and catering units were established to meet increasing demand. In the early 1980s, Oman Aviation Services became a joint-stock company and acquired several aircraft from Gulf Air, allowing it to modernize its fleet. It began offering jet services to Salalah in partnership with Gulf Air and continued to upgrade its equipment and infrastructure throughout the following decade to enhance the quality of its services.
