"Dangerous Driving on Road No. 4 – Passenger Safety at Risk"

Today, while traveling on road no. 4 between Hartola and Joutsa, I experienced an extremely dangerous situation: a coach driver overtook me recklessly, almost forcing me off the road and nearly ripping my mirror off. This raises serious concerns about whether some drivers are fit to operate large vehicles safely. Such behavior is not only reckless but potentially life-threatening, and it seems urgent that drivers’ fitness and judgment be properly assessed. Safety on the road should always be a priority.

"Mixed Feelings About Onnibus: Cheap Travel but Needs Improvement"

Onnibus offers an affordable way to travel between cities, and the Helsinki-Turku-Helsinki route is stunningly scenic, especially from the upper deck where you can enjoy Finland’s landscapes in all seasons. The bus drivers are always friendly, which is a definite plus. However, there are several downsides. Delays are common—for example, a 40-minute delay from Turku to Helsinki on June 13, 2024—which can be a major problem if you have connecting ferries, trains, or buses, and it’s unclear if Onnibus compensates in such situations. The lavatory was extremely dirty, clearly needing a thorough cleaning, and there were no charging outlets, storage pockets, or trash bins on the route. Another annoyance is the constant email reminders about your journey, which feel unnecessary and spammy. While Onnibus remains a budget-friendly option with beautiful views, improvements in cleanliness, amenities, punctuality, and communication would make the experience much better.

"Missed Bus and Poor Service – A Frustrating Experience"

I had a very negative experience with this company while trying to take the bus from Kittilä Airport to Rovaniemi at 10:00 AM. The bus was significantly late, and because it was extremely cold, I waited inside the airport. When I saw the bus arriving, I ran out and waved to the driver, but he didn’t stop and left me behind. I missed my bus and had to purchase a ticket with another company, which only departed 2.5 hours later. When I contacted the company about the issue, they blamed me entirely. The lack of commitment and respect for customers was shocking. Rudeness and terrible service made an already stressful situation far worse. I sincerely hope other tourists don’t face this experience—it does not reflect well on such an incredible country.

"Rude Drivers Ruin OnniBus Experience"

On September 24, 2024, I just managed to catch the bus from Kuopio to Helsinki, standing right next to it at 9:35, on time for departure. Instead of a professional greeting, the driver immediately yelled at me, asking where I was going and scolding me for “being late,” despite arriving on time. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my first encounter with hostile behavior from OnniBus drivers. Many drivers seem to forget that they are also customer service representatives. Paying passengers deserve respect, even if they arrive at the bus on time or have a larger backpack. OnniBus needs to train their drivers to treat customers politely, rather than relying on their market position to excuse rudeness.

"Monopoly Service with Poor Standards"

OnniBus offers a frustrating bus service. They’ve created a monopoly and, as a result, have zero standards. Tickets are expensive, but the money doesn’t go into improving the quality of the buses—aside from the red double-decker, most buses are just mid-quality. The service lacks basic features like ticket refunds, rebooking, or monthly passes, which any other transportation company would provide. Because they dominate the market, many of us are forced to use OnniBus despite the poor service. If they ever introduce options for booking changes or refunds, I might reconsider, but until then, it’s a very disappointing service.

"Excellent OnniBus Experience with Professional Driver"

Erja, who drove the initial journey between Joensuu and Helsinki, demonstrated admirable professionalism and calmness. The ride was smooth, with no reckless overtaking or abrupt maneuvers that I’ve sometimes experienced on public buses. All stops were handled efficiently, making the journey comfortable and stress-free. A truly positive experience!

"Terrible Service and Unsafe Bus Conditions"

This was the worst experience of my life. The driver was extremely rude and displayed racist behavior. To make matters worse, the front windshield of the bus was cracked, raising serious safety concerns. I would strongly advise against using this service.
