"Underwhelmed Experience"

As the flagship of Orient Express in the heart of Rome, expectations for La Minerva were understandably high—but unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming. Despite recent renovations and the spring opening, the hotel felt incomplete, with a dated appearance that suggested the refurbishment was constrained or unfinished. The rooftop restaurant and bar on the 7th floor offer Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails with stunning views of Rome’s landmarks. Yet, the space itself feels in need of a full renovation, including updated staff uniforms, to reflect the sophistication and prestige expected of the Orient Express brand. For a name synonymous with timeless elegance, luxury, and impeccable detail, La Minerva falls short. The charm and grandeur typically associated with Orient Express were noticeably absent. In a city as iconic as Rome, this launch deserved a far more polished execution, leaving us disappointed but hopeful that future updates will elevate the property to its rightful standard.

"Charm and luxury in the heart of Rome"

My wife and I had an incredible vacation in Italy, and our stay at La Minerva truly stood out! We were impressed by the professionalism of the staff, the stunning property and décor, and the thoughtful personal touches throughout. The concierge team, in particular, went above and beyond—attentive, responsive, and made planning our logistics effortless. The hotel’s location is ideal, just steps from the Pantheon, yet tucked away in a quiet plaza, providing a peaceful retreat without any noise or disruption. A truly memorable experience in Rome!

"Orient Express La Minerva a work of art in the heart of Rome"

Hugo Toro’s design at the Orient Express La Minerva is exquisite—soft lighting, carefully crafted materials, and perfectly balanced spaces that feel both timeless and contemporary. Our De Luxe room with a Pantheon view was beautifully appointed, from rich woodwork and custom furniture to a manicured minibar, artisan teas, and fresh flowers—every detail intentional and soulful. Breakfast in the lobby was elegant and delicious, accompanied by harp music, while lunch offered refined dishes, and the aperitif on the panoramic terrace overlooking the Pantheon at sunset was unforgettable. The location is unbeatable, just steps from the Pantheon and within easy reach of all Rome’s highlights. The staff were exceptionally friendly, embodying the Orient Express philosophy of understated excellence. The newly reintroduced curator team (formerly concierge) elevates the experience, setting this hotel apart from other modern luxury openings in Rome that often lack attentive concierge services. I felt completely at home and cannot wait to return.
