"WARNING: DON’T GO THERE"
The owners were incredibly rude and verbally abusive, making the entire stay uncomfortable. Their English is very poor, and the property itself was nothing like the photos — dirty and poorly maintained. This place does not reflect authentic Turkish decor either; instead, it had an odd style that seemed more Indian-inspired. Save yourself the time and money and book elsewhere. It was an absolute relief to leave. I strongly advise anyone considering this property to look for better options.
"Like a scene from a movie!"
Palm House 17 is an exceptionally atmospheric guesthouse with only a few rooms, making it feel wonderfully intimate. The owners, Richard and Alecia, provide a highly personalized service — thoughtful, attentive, and yet always discreet. Alecia went above and beyond by rescuing us when we were completely lost and overwhelmed trying to find the property, while Richard prepared and served delicious breakfasts each morning in the beautiful garden courtyard. We stayed in the best suite, which was stunning. The spacious bathroom and furnishings, adorned with carefully chosen artifacts, perfectly complemented the unique theme of the house. Everything was spotlessly clean, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. Palm House 17 has left a lasting impression on us — a place we will fondly remember for years to come.
"We had the whole hotel to ourselves…LOVED IT!"
We stayed here during the Turkish lockdown for Covid and, amazingly, had the entire hotel to ourselves. The host came in the mornings to make us breakfast, which was a lovely touch. The hotel itself is filled with cool, eclectic decorations that give it plenty of character. The only downside was the lack of a pool — with the heat in Antalya, it would have been nice to cool off. That said, having the whole place to ourselves made the experience truly special. The hosts were kind but not always present, which worked perfectly for us as we prefer privacy. The location in Old Town is also charming, at least during the pandemic when everything felt calm and quiet.
"Best of Antayla"
This was my first trip to Antalya, and with no personal recommendations on where to stay, I relied on Booking.com – and Palm House 17 came highly recommended. From the moment I read the glowing reviews and saw the photos, I knew this was the place for me. The guesthouse is perfectly located in the heart of Antalya’s charming Old Town. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional, and I felt instantly welcome. The owners, Richard and Alesya, are a wonderful couple — warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The rooms are beautifully designed and decorated with great attention to detail. I booked the large double room, which was spacious and featured a comfortable four-poster bed, a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower, and organic luxury toiletries. Bathrobes were also provided, adding a lovely touch of comfort. Breakfast in the garden was a delight. The traditional Turkish breakfast was excellent, but it’s the little extras — like the homemade preserves and jams (the lemon curd is a must-try!) — that made it truly special. They also provide guides, maps, and excellent recommendations for trips and local restaurants, making it easy to explore Antalya. I stayed for five days and enjoyed every moment. I even arrived slightly earlier than check-in and was welcomed with a lovely cup of tea in the garden while they prepared my room. Palm House 17 exceeded all my expectations, and I know when I return to Antalya, I’ll book early to stay here again. Highly recommended!
"Sewerage smell and rude staff"
We arrived late in the evening and were given a room right beside the reception desk, where guests often gathered and talked. Immediately after using the toilet, a strong sewerage smell filled the bathroom and quickly seeped into the entire room. The smell was so overpowering that even the owner couldn’t stay in the bathroom for more than a second. When we called the owner about it, she said nothing could be done and claimed there were no other rooms available. Once we mentioned finding another hotel, she suddenly offered an unclean room, saying she could prepare it in 30 minutes. However, the low ceiling in the bedroom made it unsuitable, especially as my mother is claustrophobic. A proper clean in such a short time was also doubtful. Despite the situation, we were charged for one night because she claimed booking.com would penalize them. I said I would contact booking.com to request a refund, and she agreed. She later called a friend who helped us find another hotel at midnight. Thankfully, we stayed at Minyon Hotel, which was wonderful. The next day, I returned to Palm House 17 to speak with the other owner. While he refunded us, it was done on the condition that we never return. He was very rude and unprofessional throughout the conversation, even though I remained calm. Also, it’s worth noting that the hotel’s decor is not Turkish or Ottoman-style as you might expect from its location. Instead, it’s Indian-themed, which was not clear in the listing. Overall, this was a deeply unpleasant experience, made worse by tiredness from travel. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
"Great Stay"
The owners managing Palm House are very friendly and accommodating – we truly had a great stay. The hotel’s location is excellent: very convenient and close to all amenities, yet quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed having breakfast on the garden terrace each morning – such a lovely way to start the day. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and comfortable. One small suggestion for added comfort would be to include an armchair in addition to the Josephine sofa for guests who enjoy relaxing in the room. Breakfast was varied and healthy, and as a bread lover, I’d recommend adding fresh bread and traditional simit to make the mornings even more delightful. This place is truly amazing – a hidden gem! Everything about our stay was perfect, and the owners are such wonderful people. The rooms are spacious, modern, and beautifully decorated, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. The personal service we received was excellent, making us feel so welcome and cared for. I would highly recommend this place to everyone and would be more than happy to visit again!
"Spring in paradise"
We stayed at the Palm House for five days in April and it was absolutely fantastic. The guesthouse is beautifully presented, spacious, and has such a calm, inviting atmosphere. The hospitality was truly first-class — starting each morning with breakfast in the quiet, sunny garden was the perfect way to begin the day! Antalya itself has so much to offer, especially if you venture outside the city to explore the incredible ancient sites and stunning scenery. Highly recommended!
"very high standard"
The hotel is very clean and well-organized, and the service is excellent — a standard not so commonly found in the Turkish Republic. Breakfast was rich and delicious, and the room felt cosy and comfortable. Richard, the owner, was very helpful and made our stay even more pleasant.
"Fantastic location and really great hosts!"
My wife and I stayed in the King Suite for two nights to begin our week-long holiday in Turkey. We arrived late at night and got very lost trying to find Palm House while adjusting to driving on the opposite side of the road. We called Palm House, and Alesia went out of her way to meet us and guide us to the property. Her kindness and effort meant so much to us, and we’re truly grateful! The rest of our stay was just as wonderful. The room was beautiful and spotless, and the breakfast each morning was fantastic. The location in the historic 'Old Town' was perfect for exploring. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our trip and would recommend Palm House in a heartbeat.
