The PNR is a useful mode of transportation, but the experience can be quite uncomfortable. The trains are old, and some carriages get extremely hot inside, especially during rush hours. On top of that, the crowding makes the ride even more exhausting. It would be great if the management could modernize the trains, improve ventilation or air conditioning, and add more trips to reduce overcrowding. The system has great potential — it just needs some much-needed upgrades to make commuting more comfortable for everyone.

If you want to secure a seat, it’s best to board from the end terminal (like Tutuban in Divisoria) and arrive at least 30 minutes before departure. Despite its limitations, the PNR remains a valuable transport option for those navigating Metro Manila’s “MegaTraffic” — reliable, affordable, and still one of the quickest ways to get around the city.

"PNR is Convenient but Train Schedule Accuracy Needs Improvement"
The PNR is the most convenient and accessible mode of transportation for me since I work in Makati. Although the trains are a bit slower compared to other rail systems in the Philippines, they still get the job done efficiently enough for daily commuting. However, one major issue I’ve noticed is the inaccuracy of the train schedules shown on Google Maps. The actual arrival times can differ by as much as 40 minutes, which can seriously affect your punctuality and travel planning. It’s quite frustrating when you rely on the schedule only to end up waiting much longer than expected. For now, it’s best to plan ahead and arrive earlier if you’re taking the PNR. I hope the management can coordinate with Google or update the public timetables to reflect more accurate and real-time train schedules.
