"Amazing stay at Raffles in Siem Reap"

We stayed at Raffles Siem Reap for three nights in early October 2024 and were blown away by the personalized service—it truly felt like “everybody knows your name.” We had the pleasure of meeting both the GM and the Head of F&B, who even sent us detailed recommendations for our next destination, Hanoi. When a minor bike accident required stitches, the hotel had everything ready at the international hospital, including sending over our daughter’s passport picture in advance. Highlights of our stay included dining at Restaurant 1932, staying in the ‘old’ section of the hotel, and booking temple tours through the hotel with excellent guides. We loved learning about the hotel’s history from a manager, followed by a Raffles Siem Reap-style Singapore Sling lesson with a complimentary drink. Minor areas for improvement: better air conditioning in the gym and slightly lower volume for the Sunday Brunch band. Overall, we highly recommend Raffles Siem Reap. After hot, exhausting days touring the temples, returning to this beautiful, historic hotel was pure bliss. Stay long enough to truly enjoy it!

"Ideal Location stepping back in time"

We chose this hotel because of our previous stays at Raffles Singapore, and it beautifully evokes the charm of the old Raffles, with teak flooring and classic marble bathrooms (albeit smaller), massive, extremely comfortable beds, and a wonderfully historic wooden elevator—the oldest in Indochina! The staff were attentive and pleasant throughout our stay. The outdoor area is lovely to wander, but the pool truly steals the show, with plenty of loungers for relaxation. This hotel is ideal for visiting Angkor Wat. After a 4 a.m. alarm and 5 a.m. pickup for sunrise, the breakfast box was a delightful surprise. It came in a rucksack with yogurt, pastries, croissants, jam, orange juice, and flasks of tea, which we enjoyed peacefully by a nearby lake. The only minor issue was that upon returning around 11:45 a.m., our room was still being cleaned. We had to wait 20–30 minutes and eventually ask housekeeping to finish after we had showered and changed. The location is also convenient, just a short tuk-tuk ride to town for an enjoyable evening out. Overall, a wonderful and memorable stay.

"Wonderful hotel"

Having visited Raffles Singapore, we weren’t sure what to expect, but this hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hotel was spotless. We enjoyed the bar, which offered a good variety on the menu, and the location was within walking distance of the night market. Although we only stayed for two nights, we would definitely return and stay longer!

"A place steeped in history"

Raffles Siem Reap is a magnificent hotel whose historic building creates an immediate “wow” effect upon arrival. The majestic lobby and the exceptionally kind doormen set the tone for a remarkable stay. We stayed three nights and received a warm welcome, although our arrival had some difficulties that required managerial intervention—thanks again to the manager, whose efforts clearly improved our experience. We were upgraded to a Colonial Suite, a spacious room full of character with a lovely garden view. The bedding was excellent, though the bathroom is small and sound insulation could be improved both from outside noise and nearby rooms. The pool is superb and beautifully integrated into the surroundings, though service can occasionally be slow. The restaurant offers excellent dishes, but service can be uneven at times. In contrast, the Elephant Bar provides impeccable service and outstanding cocktails in a unique setting. Afternoon tea with ALL status was also a highlight. The spa offers decent service, though it falls short of the exceptional standard expected for the hotel’s level, particularly given the prices. A standout experience was the Raffles-organized scooter tour of the Angkor temples—well worth the premium price, perfectly organized, and unforgettable. Late check-out at 2 p.m. and a warm farewell from the team rounded off our stay. Overall, Raffles Siem Reap is a charming property offering a largely wonderful experience, though service and attention to detail could occasionally be elevated to match the brand’s prestige.

"Exceptional staff."

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel and highly recommend it while in Siem Reap. Despite being a luxury property, the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, creating a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is beautifully decorated, exuding an elegant historical vibe. Lee and Sok at the pool were wonderful—friendly, attentive, and always happy to chat. The spa team provided excellent treatments at great value, and we ended up booking several. At the Elephant Bar, the bartenders remembered us and our drinks, greeting us by name each evening. The valet and bellhop staff were equally gracious, introducing us to Mr. Sarem, the best tuk-tuk driver in the city, who became our go-to driver and unofficial tour guide. Every interaction with the staff felt sincere and personal. The hotel grounds were impeccably maintained, and our room was cleaned to perfection daily. We especially enjoyed the nightly historical excerpts left in the room—stories from explorers and historians of the 1700s–1800s—which became a fun bedtime ritual. One small note: the hotel tends to attract an older crowd, mostly guests in their 60s and 70s, but this didn’t bother us.

"Nice hotel, our room let down by bathroom"

We stayed here as part of a Scenic Cruises tour. The lobby and lounge overlooking the pool have a real wow factor, and the check-in process was smooth and simple. The Elephant Bar is iconic and a highlight of the property. Our room was spacious, though there was considerable road noise. The bathroom layout was awkward, with a very small shower and shelves designed more for tall guests.

"First time in Cambodia, the Raffles was as wonderful as the temples!"

Exceptional service combined with a world-class historic building, beautifully restored with grace and care. The hotel blends old-world charm with modern touches, making the stay truly memorable.

"Old-fashioned luxury"

This hotel is a superb property offering all the comforts of an international hotel. The cuisine is impeccable, and while the service can sometimes be a little confusing, it remains pleasant. The yoga instructor is incredible, and the massage therapists are excellent. Minor suggestions: adding windows to the gym and a dedicated yoga shala would further enhance the experience.

"Second Slaycation – We’ll Be Back for More"

As locals, we’ve grown fond of socializing at Raffles Siem Reap and particularly enjoy the exceptionally lovely staff. Nisha, recently promoted to Gin Butler, is an amazing hostess, and Malika made our stay extra special by remembering us from prior visits and assisting throughout. The grand pool, stylish rooms, and legendary service are all remarkable, but the fine food and beverage offerings truly stand out. Many recipes are sourced directly from the Cambodian royal family—the soft-shell crab and pomelo salad, in particular, are exceptional. Dining is relatively inexpensive by international standards, given the exquisite quality and locally sourced ingredients. Service here is unmatched. En Yang anticipated our breakfast preferences perfectly, even while managing other tables. His manager, Prim Prey, went above and beyond, recommending local dishes not on the menu, reserving our preferred quiet table, and ensuring every meal exceeded expectations. This attention to detail elevated our stay from amazing to unforgettable. TL;DR: Book this hotel immediately. Treat yourself to afternoon tea, drinks, and dinner on-site—you’ll enjoy exquisite royal recipes and service that makes you feel like royalty.

"Good stay in a beautiful hotel"

A very nice pension with an interesting history and a memorable experience, supported by very dedicated staff. Our room was lovely, though slightly smaller than comparable options in the area. There was a small balcony, but unfortunately no seating to enjoy it.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor (Siem Reap)

A historic luxury hotel dating back to 1932, it combines French-colonial architecture with refined Khmer touches — ideal for a memorable stay near the temples.
