"A Classy Joint full of history"
Raffles truly lives up to its renowned name. The property is stunning, with a refined atmosphere and exceptional attention to detail. We especially loved the Elephant Bar—an elegant spot with great drinks and ambiance. The food was fabulous, and the staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. Its central location made it easy to explore the city, and the on-site gift shop was perfect for picking up a few last-minute souvenirs. A wonderful experience all around.
"A cool heaven"
This beautifully designed historic building feels like a grand plantation mansion, with elegant marble features that perfectly suit the tropical climate. Blending colonial charm with contemporary touches, it offers an atmosphere of refined comfort. The staff are professionally friendly, and the doormen—dressed in colorful traditional attire reminiscent of royal attendants—add a distinctive touch of heritage and class. Inside, the hotel is a cool and serene haven amid the city’s heat, especially during the warmer months. The Elephant Bar staff were exceptionally personable, and the dining experience at Le Phnom was excellent, offering a delicious fusion of French and Asian flavors. Our standard room was spacious, well-appointed, and provided every comfort we could have hoped for. A wonderful blend of history, style, and genuine hospitality.
"Raffles offers the Personal Touch"
Our three-night stay at Raffles in Phnom Penh was the perfect start to our time in Cambodia. The hotel truly feels like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering calm, comfort, and timeless elegance. We initially booked a Landmark Room, which was lovely and spacious, but when music from a nearby university party disrupted our first night, the manager, Mr. Thomas Bianco, handled the situation with professionalism and care—swiftly moving us to a beautiful, quiet room in the rear building with a side balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. The service at Raffles goes far beyond expectations. Every member of the team was courteous, polite, and genuinely attentive, always ensuring everything was perfect. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the pool area—surrounded by lush tropical greenery—was an ideal spot to unwind. The poolside staff were equally attentive and friendly. The iconic Elephant Bar deserves a special mention: it’s a charming place to relax before or after dinner, offering an impressive range of drinks. For those who don’t drink alcohol, the bar carries a wide selection of Lyre’s 0% options and will happily craft custom mocktails on request—nothing is ever too much trouble here. After busy days of sightseeing, returning to Raffles felt like coming home. The daily housekeeping and thoughtful turn-down service added to the sense of care and luxury. Despite the initial noise issue, our stay turned out to be everything we hoped for—a unique blend of old-world charm, modern comfort, and genuinely personal service. And yes, the beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable too!
"Easter at Raffles…"
The reception area made a wonderful first impression—beautifully decorated for Easter and setting a warm, elegant tone on arrival. Check-in was smooth and efficient. Our room was lovely, overlooking the pool with a charming balcony. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel itself is well maintained with a refined, welcoming atmosphere. Turn-down service was handled thoughtfully after we left for the evening, which we appreciated. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. Communication was occasionally difficult, as some staff members struggled with English—something we hadn’t experienced elsewhere in Cambodia. Booking a spa treatment proved challenging and required managerial assistance, suggesting the spa team could benefit from additional training. The pool area also seemed understaffed, with only one person handling all food orders; service was slow, and the food didn’t quite meet the standard we’d enjoyed at other hotels. On the positive side, dining room staff were excellent—professional, attentive, and friendly—and breakfast each morning was delicious. Overall, despite a few hiccups, we had a pleasant stay in a beautiful, relaxing setting and left wishing we could stay a little longer.
"A colonial oasis in the heart of the city"
Raffles Le Royal truly lives up to its five-star reputation. Perfectly located in the vibrant city centre, it still manages to feel like a peaceful sanctuary the moment you step inside. The bedrooms are elegantly designed, spacious, and serviced twice daily, ensuring the highest level of comfort. One of the highlights is the stunning pool area, featuring two large swimming pools where guests can order food and drinks directly from their loungers—perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. The spa, though intimate in size, offers a lovely thermal suite, a well-equipped gym, and an impressive selection of treatments. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with a great variety of options, and the cocktails at the iconic Elephant Bar were expertly crafted. Every member of staff was friendly, professional, and eager to help, making our first visit to Phnom Penh truly memorable.
"Pleasant hotel in Phnom Penh"
This is a very nice hotel set within beautiful grounds in Phnom Penh. Although we only stayed for a couple of nights, our experience was very pleasant. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, offering everything we needed for a short stay. I wasn’t feeling my best, so I didn’t have the chance to visit the hotel’s restaurants or bars, but the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, the hotel has a refined and professional atmosphere, seemingly catering more to business travelers than tourists, yet it still provides a comfortable and welcoming stay for all guests.
"Just perfect!"
Outstanding in every way—this hotel exemplifies true five-star excellence. The entire experience was seamless, with professional and friendly service that made us feel genuinely cared for. No detail was overlooked, from the beautifully maintained room to the elegant dining experience. A special mention to our host, Pisey, who was exceptionally attentive and ensured everything was perfect throughout our stay. Truly a top-notch hotel that sets the standard for luxury and hospitality.
"Nice rooms, large hotel but calm. Disappointing breakfasts."
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and found the hotel to be charming and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, perfectly suited for our two-night visit. The hotel’s colonial style gives it a distinctive character, especially noticeable in the bar area, which had a lovely atmosphere and well-priced drinks during happy hour. Breakfast, however, could use some improvement—the buffet was not replenished frequently enough, and there seemed to be too few staff to manage the morning rush. On one occasion, reception was a bit disorganized, and our bags weren’t collected on time, which slightly delayed our departure. Not a major issue, but frustrating at the moment. The pool area was lovely, and the addition of a separate pool for children was a thoughtful touch. Despite a few small inconveniences, we would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates that classic old-world, colonial charm.
"Wonderful stay"
This hotel deserves five stars in every sense. The beautiful grounds and tranquil pool feel like a true oasis in the heart of Phnom Penh. The staff are wonderfully attentive, ensuring every guest feels valued and cared for. Our room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, with beds that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. Evenings at the bar and mornings at breakfast were both delightful experiences, marked by gracious service and a welcoming atmosphere. We felt genuinely respected and treated like royalty throughout our stay. When in Phnom Penh, this is absolutely the place to stay!
"Nice stay"
This hotel is superbly located right in the city centre, making it ideal for exploring Phnom Penh. The pool area is fantastic—a relaxing spot to unwind after a day in the city—and the bar offers a great atmosphere with friendly, attentive service. Breakfast was served both buffet-style and à la carte, and we preferred the freshly served options. The spa provides excellent treatments, though prices are on the higher side, reflecting its premium quality. Overall, a well-appointed hotel with top-notch facilities and a convenient location.
