"Great meat quality at fair prices"
The food arrived quickly, and the beef fillet was outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. At 20 euros, it’s absolutely worth it. We also enjoyed the local Cerveza Mafasca. Service was friendly, with a very attentive waiter. The quality of the meat alone makes this restaurant worth a visit. Starters included croquetas in three varieties (chicken, serrano ham, tuna)—a bit overcooked on the outside and cold inside, but the warm bread with two sauces was delicious. Drinks are reasonably priced, with soft drinks at 2 euros per bottle. Tip: Phone reservations are recommended.

El Luchador is a typical Canarian village restaurant, highly recommended for those wanting genuine local cuisine. Be careful not to confuse it with Casa Tino Matoso on the same street, which focuses more on tourist-style dishes. The interior is simple, reflecting a classic village bar-restaurant. Service can be a bit slow at times, so for certain items, you may need to get up and order yourself. The food is true to Fuerteventura, though a bit irregular at times—such as the lamb being fried—but overall the quality is good. Prices are very reasonable, and the restaurant even offers a farewell shot. Excellent value for money and a solid recommendation for an authentic local experience.

Fantastic food with high-quality meat and a pleasant house wine. The portions are very generous – my solomillo was easily 300 grams! A great spot for a satisfying meal.

My overall impression is that this restaurant primarily caters to locals and isn’t particularly focused on tourists. I dined with a Swiss couple from my hotel. For a starter, I had a mixed salad, which was quite basic with limp lettuce. My main, pork with mushrooms, was simply cubes of pork fried with mushroom slices and served with bland French fries—far from the rich mushroom sauce I had expected. Fortunately, a companion’s steak with pepper sauce allowed me to add some flavor to my dish. The red wine was good but served at a very low temperature straight from a cold fridge. The staff were generally friendly, but the restaurant can get quite noisy—not from guests, but from kitchen activity and sports TV in the bar. Communication was limited as the staff spoke only a little Spanish and struggled to translate the Spanish-only menu. A positive note: they offer a pick-up/drop-off service for the hotel I stayed at.

We went for dinner and had an excellent meal—so good that we returned just two days later! The portions are generous (the photos show only half portions), and the quality of the food is top-notch. Everything we tried was delicious. A restaurant clearly loved by locals, which is always a good sign!
