"Perfect little spot. Just a couple of tiny fixable flaws."

I would have happily given 5 stars—the food was exquisite, and this is our third visit in a year. The scallops were delicious, the steak succulent and flavorful, and the sangria delightful. However, the service was a bit of a letdown. There was no check-back, no offer for additional drinks, and we had to wave down a waiter even though it wasn’t busy—a recurring issue. The live music was fantastic and perfectly complemented the meal. Despite the service, we will continue returning. A happy and deserved 3 stars.

"Enjoyable food with a view, slow service"

We enjoyed an afternoon lunch and drinks here, with a lovely view of the sea. The food was pleasant—one of the pizzas we had was fresh and light. However, the service was slow. We had to wait to be seated, wait for drinks, and repeatedly try to get staff attention for more drinks, as they didn’t check on us. Even when it came time to pay, we had to take our bill to the bar, as no one was interested in processing our payment.

"La Farola del Mar"

The cocktails were excellent, and both the duck and sirloin steak were very good. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food we enjoyed, and the service was attentive and friendly.

"Lovely location, food underwhelming"

The restaurant was very busy, but we were seated quickly—right next to the live guitarist and his amplifier! Choosing your seat wisely is important; other diners by the sea would have had a much nicer ambiance with the music. We ordered steak tagliatelle and Canarian chicken breast, but both dishes were underwhelming. The pasta was covered in gravy with only a few pieces of steak and mushrooms, and the chicken came with a small portion of mashed potato and vegetables. While the setting is lovely, the food didn’t quite meet expectations.

"Lovely well presented food"

We visited twice because our first experience was excellent. On our first visit, the server (a Lithuanian lady, possibly named Tanya) was very attentive. I had the fillet steak with red wine sauce (Solomillo Terner) and she guided me through lactose-free options, while my husband had the Penne Rustica. The steak was beautifully cooked, well presented, and exceeded my expectations. Our second visit, however, was less smooth. The same server seemed rushed and less friendly. A small misunderstanding arose when my husband initially ordered veal—something we normally avoid for ethical reasons. Rather than handling it delicately, she disagreed rather bluntly, which made the situation feel awkward. Ultimately, he switched to the pork dish, which was again delicious and beautifully presented. Throughout the meal, I felt a certain distance from the server, though by the time we paid, she was chatty and pleasant again. While the food consistently exceeded our expectations, the mixed service experience left me puzzled.

"Confusion"

Our experience was marred by confusion with the order. We requested an American cocktail, but an American coffee was brought three times. By the end of dinner, we finally received the correct cocktail—but it was billed twice by mistake. Considering the wait and the error, it arguably shouldn’t have been charged. The meat, touted as delicious, was underwhelming and didn’t justify the fairly high price. Overall, the service issues and disappointing main course made the experience less enjoyable.

"The salted seabass was first class"

We dropped in without a booking and had a pleasant experience. My partner enjoyed a salted sea bass, filleted at the table, which she described as excellent. I had a pepperoni pizza, which was perfectly fine, accompanied by a nice bottle of white Rioja Muga. It’s not fine dining, but it delivers what it promises—I'd rate it a solid 7.5 out of 10.

"Don’t order paella."

The service was great, and the cocktails were enjoyable. Some of the main courses were good, but the paella—regardless of variety—was incredibly bland. Best advice: skip the paella.
