Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora

"Reliable Marriott Service"
Our room was spacious as advertised, though the walk-in closet wasn’t very useful for our short stay—if budget is tight, a standard room would suffice. The bathroom was beautifully designed, with excellent water pressure and temperature control. The Roman Baths were a true highlight; we enjoyed them so much that we visited twice, though we unfortunately booked the spa too late to secure a session. Breakfast offered a generous buffet and a good selection of made-to-order hot dishes, even if nothing stood out as exceptional. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
"Stay in Rome"
I booked this hotel primarily for its convenient access from Roma Termini, as we were using Rome as a hub to travel to Florence and Naples. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the train station, manageable if traveling light, though less ideal with luggage. It is also close to the US Embassy and adjacent to the Westin, another Marriott property that appears more upmarket from the exterior. The hotel itself feels like a traditional, slightly dated 4-star Marriott. Check-in was warm, though we quickly realized there was a wedding taking place, which brought loud music late into the evening. Our room was compact but clean, well-maintained, and functional, with a larger-than-expected bathroom. While the hotel is not very close to the historical center—it’s about a 35-minute walk to the Colosseum—transportation around the city was easy using Uber. For those prioritizing proximity to Rome’s main historical sites, another Marriott property closer to the action might be a better choice. Romina at the front desk was extremely helpful, providing excellent restaurant recommendations nearby. We also booked New Year’s dinner at the hotel. While the staff remained attentive and friendly, the event itself felt a bit dated and mismatched, with 80’s music and animated shows creating an unusual mix of atmospheres. Overall, the Marriott Grand Flora is a functional, standard Marriott property with a convenient location near the train station. It provides good service at a price that reflects its straightforward metropolitan Rome experience.
"Good hotel, well located"
This hotel is ideally located across from the Villa Borghese gardens, steps from the famous Harry’s restaurant, and just a block from the American embassy. Our spacious room, upgraded using certificates, faced Via Veneto. While the room felt a bit dated and the front desk staff at check-in were slightly off-putting, the highlight of our stay was breakfast on the top floor overlooking Rome. The service there was excellent, with tables set with crisp white linens, coffee prepared to order, and a wide selection of delicious pastries, breads, yogurts, and egg dishes. A few practical tips: bring your own change for tips, as the staff cannot break large bills, and be cautious when ordering late-night meals on the upstairs terrace—one evening our order, placed just half an hour before closing, was forgotten by the waitress.
"Exceptional Staff Made the Stay Memorable"
My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Grand Flora for a week and were delighted to be upgraded to a larger room, thanks to my wife’s Platinum status. Our rate included breakfast, which was truly superb. The dining room on the seventh floor offers spectacular views of Rome, and the buffet was outstanding, featuring made-to-order eggs, a wide range of dairy, fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, various meats and fish, and an array of breads, croissants, rolls, and pastries. What made the experience truly exceptional, however, was the staff. Morena, the hostess, was a consummate professional—hardworking, attentive, and incredibly kind—going out of her way to make us feel welcome. The servers, including Romina, Kimberly, Donatella, and Roan, were diligent and considerate, providing impeccable service throughout. On our final night, we dined in the first-floor bar and restaurant, where Lorenzo provided excellent service, and the high quality of the food made the evening memorable. The front desk and concierge team, including Jacobo, Isabella, Massimo, and Stefania, were patient, helpful, and attentive to our many questions. We are particularly grateful to Stefania for recommending a visit to Castel Sant’Angelo. Additionally, the maids, bellhops, and front door attendants were all courteous and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. Overall, the professionalism and warmth of the staff made our stay unforgettable, and we deeply appreciated their efforts at every level.
"Great, classic Rome hotel"
A very nice hotel in Rome! While not located directly in the city center, it’s just a short walk to the Spanish Steps and other iconic sites. The rooftop breakfast was a highlight, offering both incredible views and delicious food. The rooms were comfortable, with small bathrooms, which is typical for European hotels. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with helpful staff, making for a very enjoyable stay.
"Aperitif top"
I visited this venue with friends for an aperitif, and everything was excellent. The staff were very kind, attentive, always available, and professional, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
"Great hotel and location .. support of electronic is terrible"
The hotel’s location is fantastic, and the staff are exceptional—especially the concierge, Massimo, who went above and beyond to assist us. As Titanium members, the complimentary breakfast was a great perk. Unfortunately, our room had significant issues with electronics: the TV, hairdryer, telephone, and nearly all outlets were nonfunctional. Maintenance was able to fix some problems temporarily, but the issues returned the following evening. We were even unable to order room service because the phone would not dial. While the staff were outstanding, the hotel’s electronics support clearly needs improvement, especially considering the high standards expected by frequent Marriott guests.
"A great experience, the aperitif at the restaurant up to the terrace all special. Best hotel in Rome for the view"
We had a fantastic experience, enjoying aperitifs at the restaurant and the terrace—both were truly special. This is the best hotel in Rome for a 360-degree view of the city. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about food and drink, and we highly recommend it for any occasion. A special thanks to Giacomo for his exceptional kindness and attentive service during dinner.
"Good Service"
We received great service from Roan Saverio Morena at the rooftop restaurant during breakfast. The rooms were small but comfortable, especially if you book a superior room, though an upgrade would have made the stay even better. The hotel restaurant was quite expensive, but the concierge was very kind and recommended some excellent dining options nearby. Overall, a pleasant stay.
"Not remarkable but good"
The hotel offers small but well-equipped rooms with good service. It’s situated in a convenient location, overlooking a green park, and just a short walk from the Spanish Steps. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the staff were kind, helpful, and attentive, including the doorman service. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.
