Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora

"Not what I would expect for the money"
As a Platinum lifetime member, I’ve experienced the best and worst of Marriott properties, but this one was particularly disappointing. Loyalty and recognition were entirely absent; you feel no difference from being a first-time guest. While the location is quiet, it comes with the downside of having to walk downhill to visit sites and then climb back up afterward. The staff were unfriendly, and the doorman was unhelpful. Our room, though large by European standards, had old and worn furniture, and even the door needed a fresh coat of paint. Considering the rates charged, this stay did not offer good value. Very disappointing overall.
"Reliable Marriott Service"
We spent two nights in the Presidential Suite at the end of our vacation. While the suite was spacious and well-appointed, it felt slightly dated, with some visible wear in the bathroom. The view of the park was lovely, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The hotel’s peaceful location offered a welcome retreat away from the busy tourist areas. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service—the front desk, concierge, cleaning staff, and doormen were all friendly, attentive, and helpful. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome treats that awaited us on arrival, adding a special touch to our stay.
"Not remarkable but good"
The hotel offers small but well-equipped rooms with views over a lovely green park. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the Spanish Steps. Breakfast is good, and the staff—including the doormen—are friendly, helpful, and attentive, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay.
"Good hotel, well located"
This hotel is ideally located across from the Villa Borghese gardens, near the famous Harry’s restaurant, and just a block from the American Embassy. We stayed in a spacious room upgraded with certificates, which faced Via Veneto. While the room was slightly dated and the front desk check-in experience felt a bit off-putting, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the rooftop breakfast. With crisp white tablecloths, coffee prepared to your liking, and a wide selection of delicious pastries, breads, yogurts, and egg dishes, the experience was top-notch. A couple of practical tips: bring your own change for tipping, as the staff cannot break bills, and be cautious when ordering late-night meals on the terrace—one evening, we ordered half an hour before closing and the waitress forgot our meal. Despite these minor issues, the location and breakfast experience make this hotel a memorable choice.
"Exceptional Staff Made the Stay Memorable"
My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Grand Flora for a week and were delighted to be upgraded to a larger room, thanks to her Platinum status. Our rate included breakfast, which truly stood out as a highlight of our stay. The seventh-floor dining room offers spectacular views of Rome, and the buffet was exceptional—eggs cooked to order, a wide variety of dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, assorted meats and fish, and an impressive selection of breads and pastries. What truly elevated the experience was the staff. Morena, the hostess, was a consummate professional—hardworking, attentive, and incredibly kind, making us feel genuinely welcome. The servers, including Romina, Kimberly, Donatella, and Roan, were dedicated, considerate, and highly professional, ensuring every detail was perfect. On our final night, dinner in the first-floor bar and dining room was made memorable thanks to our attentive server, Lorenzo, and the high quality of the food. The front desk and concierge team—Jacobo, Isabella, Massimo, and Stefania—were exceptionally helpful and patient in answering our many questions. Stefania’s recommendation to visit Castel Sant’Angelo was particularly appreciated. Additionally, the maids, bellhops, and doormen were courteous and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Overall, the combination of superb service, thoughtful staff, and an outstanding breakfast experience made our stay truly unforgettable.
"Great, classic Rome hotel"
This is a very nice hotel in Rome, conveniently located just a short walk from the Spanish Steps and other iconic attractions, even if not right in the city center. The rooftop breakfast is a highlight, offering both stunning views and delicious food. The rooms are comfortable, though the bathrooms are small—typical for European hotels. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff, making for a very pleasant stay.
"Aperitif top"
I visited this hotel with friends for an aperitif and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were kind, professional, and always attentive, ensuring that our time there was enjoyable. Everything was well-managed and welcoming.
"Great hotel and location .. support of electronic is terrible"
The hotel’s location is fantastic, and the staff are truly outstanding. As Titanium members, we appreciated the complimentary breakfast, and the concierge, Massimo, went above and beyond to assist us. However, our room had significant issues with electronics—the TV, hairdryer, telephone, and most outlets were not working. While maintenance managed to fix some problems temporarily, they returned the next evening. We were even unable to order room service due to the non-functioning phone. While the staff service was exceptional, the electronic support in the room fell short, especially for frequent travelers accustomed to high standards.
"A great experience, the aperitif at the restaurant up to the terrace all special. Best hotel in Rome for the view"
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel, from enjoying aperitifs at the restaurant to relaxing on the terrace. It truly offers the best 360-degree views of Rome. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about food and drinks, making every moment special. I highly recommend it for any occasion, with a special thanks to Giacomo for his exceptional kindness and attentiveness during dinner.
"Good Service"
We received great service from Roan Saverio Morena at the rooftop restaurant during breakfast. The rooms were small but comfortable, especially in a superior room, though an upgrade would have improved the experience. While the hotel restaurant was quite expensive, the concierge kindly recommended some excellent nearby dining options, which we greatly appreciated.
