"A must do in Siem Reap. 4 3/4 STARS"
Sala Lodges is an absolute must if you’re visiting Siem Reap. The rustic yet charming lodges are wonderfully designed while offering all the modern amenities you could need. The hotel manager and owner is a delight, and we enjoyed several friendly conversations about the property. The vision and execution of both him and his wife for Sala Lodges are truly impeccable. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the service ranks among the best I’ve ever experienced. A highlight is the creative daily breakfast juice, based on the “color of the day,” which is both fun and delicious. While the restaurant prices are higher than elsewhere, the quality, service, and convenience make it worth the extra cost. I rated Sala Lodges 4¾ stars, just shy of five, mainly because noise from neighbors can carry into the night, and the pillows were a bit firm—after a 24+ hour journey with five flights, a softer pillow would have been appreciated. Nonetheless, these minor points didn’t diminish our enjoyment. Bottom line: Sala Lodges is unique, wonderful, and an experience you truly need to try.
"A Peaceful Paradise in Siem Reap – Truly Unforgettable Stay!"
From the moment we arrived at Sala Lodges, we were completely enchanted. Even with our late evening arrival, several staff members greeted us with warm smiles, cool towels, and refreshing drinks—a wonderfully thoughtful welcome after a long journey. The property itself is breathtaking. The individual traditional Cambodian houses are beautifully designed and set amidst lush, impeccably maintained gardens. Our room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, featuring an excellent mattress and charming touches everywhere, from fresh flowers to the unique handcrafted door keys. Sala Lodges truly feels like a sanctuary. We loved relaxing by the pool and waking each morning to the peaceful sounds of birds and roosters—a tranquil retreat that feels worlds away, yet is only minutes from Siem Reap’s famous temples. The staff are exceptional—warm, professional, and genuinely caring. They made us feel completely at home, treating us like family throughout our stay. The restaurant also deserves special praise for its delicious dishes, beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. We cannot thank the Sala Lodges team enough for creating such a memorable experience. Our stay was nothing short of amazing, and we cannot wait to return!
"Very good resort in Siem Reap"
My wife and I stayed for three nights and had a very enjoyable experience. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant, which serves food of excellent quality. One area for improvement is the overall service across the property. The staff are young and highly motivated, but they would benefit from more training and guidance from senior management.

"Loud music"
This is a dream location just outside Siem Reap, featuring 11 beautifully rebuilt traditional Cambodian houses. It offers what could be a perfectly peaceful environment to escape the bustle of the growing town. Unfortunately, the experience is disrupted by persistent, loud music playing daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, which makes it difficult to fully enjoy the tranquility.

What a magical place! Sala Lodges offers an extraordinary experience in Siem Reap. The lodges are both authentic and refined, set within lush gardens, and the swimming pool provides a perfect place to relax after exploring the magnificent Angkor temples. The quality of the welcome is truly exceptional, full of thoughtful touches that make the stay more than pleasant. Arne, his wife, and their team pay meticulous attention to detail, delivering warm, personalized service with the sole aim of making each stay unforgettable—luxury without any unnecessary extravagance. From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for. Although we had booked a lodge for two with an extra bed for our son, they offered an additional lodge so that everyone could enjoy privacy, explaining that in the low season they were happy to make our stay as comfortable as possible. This generosity was deeply appreciated. Beyond the lodges, the team helped organize our excursions, discussing and tailoring experiences to our desires. We enjoyed an extraordinary Francophone guide whose deep knowledge brought history and culture vividly to life, and our tuk-tuk driver awaited us with refreshing jasmine-scented towels after the heat of the temples—small but unforgettable touches. In short, it was an unforgettable stay. One word sums it up: Whaoooo! Thank you again to Arne, his wife, and the entire Sala Lodges team for creating such a remarkable experience.
"Step into the past of an Old Cambodian house"
Our experience began with a warm airport pick-up by Harrier, complete with cold water and refreshing towels after our journey. The resort is tucked away from the busy streets, featuring a simple lobby and incredibly friendly staff. Staying here feels like stepping back into traditional Cambodian living, with clean, quaint houses—though note, there is no TV. I loved the blend of simplicity and modern style. The accommodations at Sala Lodges are truly one-of-a-kind, offering both charm and every comfort a visitor could wish for. Each time I returned from the day’s activities, I was warmly greeted with a cool cloth and a refreshing drink—a small but memorable example of the many gracious services provided. Without a doubt, Sala Lodges will be my first choice whenever I return to Siem Reap.
"Nice place to relax"
This morning, my wife and I checked out of Sala Lodges after a wonderful four-night stay. The lodges are authentic Cambodian wooden houses on stilts, complete with mosquito nets and earplugs (you’ll definitely need them!). The staff were friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was excellent. The swimming pool provided the perfect place to relax after exploring the Angkor temples around Siem Reap.
