"Fine. Soulless."

The dining room is bustling with staff, all working hard to deliver the experience, yet not a single smile is exchanged. The food is generally fine, with one standout — a beautifully prepared white asparagus — and the rest of the dishes are creative, though just passable. Unfortunately, the overall experience is dampened by the clear lack of enthusiasm from both the kitchen and service staff, making it feel like everyone would rather be elsewhere.

"Creative flavors, memorable evening"

Our dinner here became one of the highlights of our Paris trip. The restaurant feels relaxed and modern, avoiding the stiffness of many fine dining establishments. We opted for the tasting menu, and each plate was beautifully crafted, showcasing seasonal ingredients with a fresh, creative approach. The wine pairings complemented the dishes perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. Service was warm and attentive, striking a perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. While securing a table requires planning ahead, it is absolutely worth the effort.

"A popular restaurant that is regularly listed among the World’s 50 Best Restaurants and has a Michelin star and is difficult to book"

Lunch here costs €70 and, while the restaurant is a regular on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list (ranked 24th in 2011), expectations can be high. Online reservations open three weeks in advance and fill up quickly. The exterior appears casual, almost like a café, and the interior is warm and natural, far from the image of a high-end establishment. The staff are friendly and gentle, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The two appetizers were delicious, but the main dishes felt rather ordinary compared to top-tier restaurants elsewhere, lacking the originality and finesse one might expect. While the pricing is reasonable given the reputation and reservation demand, personally, I wouldn’t return — though casual diners without high expectations would likely enjoy it.

"A Masterclass in Seasonal Dining at Septime"

Dining at Septime was a true highlight of our Paris visit. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere was calm, stylish, and unpretentious — a refreshing contrast to the formality often found in Michelin-starred restaurants. We chose the tasting menu, and every course was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. The emphasis on seasonal, sustainable ingredients shone through in the flavors. Standout dishes included a delicate white asparagus plate and a deeply satisfying slow-cooked fish with a vibrant herb emulsion. The wine pairings were excellent and thoughtfully guided by a knowledgeable sommelier. Service was flawless — warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. The staff’s pride in their work made the experience feel personal and memorable. Reservations can be tricky, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. Septime is more than a meal; it’s a modern Parisian dining experience done exceptionally well. Highly recommended for food lovers seeking something refined yet approachable.

"Distinguished!"

Reservations must be made by phone exactly three weeks in advance, as online booking doesn’t work and tables fill up quickly. It was absolutely worth the effort! The food was outstanding, speaking for itself, and the accompanying natural wines were excellent. We left delighted and will definitely return.

"Exceptional!"

We had an absolutely amazing lunch experience at Septime, enjoying the seven-course tasting menu offered for Easter Monday. Every single dish was a perfect 10/10, from the stunning presentation to the exquisite flavors. From start to finish, we were completely mesmerized. This is an experience not to be missed!

"good food"

The food at this restaurant was good, and the place itself is very nice. However, the frustrating reservation system makes it hard to say if it was truly worth the effort, especially considering we enjoyed many other great meals around the city.

"Not again"

Getting a reservation here is extremely difficult, and unfortunately, the experience didn’t fully justify the effort. The food was good but nothing exceptional — only the wine and desserts stood out. The limited choice, with just one main course (pulpo) and no meat option, was surprising. Considering the price, there are many better dining options in Paris that offer more variety and value.

"Very good"

Septime has been on my “must-visit” list for years, and I finally secured a lunch table the day after joining the waiting list while in Paris. The experience was wonderful, though not spectacular — largely due to high expectations from its ranking (24th in the world) and one Michelin star. The restaurant itself is unpretentious: no white tablecloths, no lofty airs, just very good food served in a relaxed setting. The wine selection was perfect. We enjoyed two bottles (one white, one red) instead of the wine package, and the sommelier’s suggestions were spot on — 5/5. The food was very good: the broth was flavorful, the lobster superb, and the grilled cucumber enjoyable. However, the second main course with marrow felt slightly lacking, though the dessert was delightful. Overall, a very pleasant experience at a reasonable price. Highly recommended if approached with slightly lower expectations.

"Good but without charm"

Everything here is executed flawlessly — from the attentive service to the multilingual, courteous sommelier. However, the dining room feels small and lacks charm, and the succession of numerous microscopic dishes, while good, leaves the experience feeling more like a concept than a meal with personality. The price is high, and while technically excellent, the experience may feel a bit sterile for those seeking warmth and character.
