Shangri‑La Pari

"A lovely stay but read the fine print"
This hotel is very beautiful and conveniently located close to the Eiffel Tower. We stayed to celebrate our 44th anniversary and purchased the “love package,” which included rose petals on the bed and in the bath, an exquisite rose bouquet, fresh fruit, dessert, and chocolates. Unfortunately, the package was supposed to include champagne, but we were given a cheap bottle of red wine instead. Our room was lovely, but we had to keep requesting water, which was charged—surprisingly tacky for a fine hotel. The website was misleading regarding views; our room 503 was sold as a “room with a view,” but it only offered a street view with a small balcony. Upgrading to a proper view would have cost an extra €1,000. The rooftop bar advertised on the website is no longer available, though we enjoyed dining on the terrace our last night, which provided a partial view of the Eiffel Tower. Despite these issues, the staff were excellent, attentive, and the food was very good. Overall, a beautiful stay, but be aware of the misleading room descriptions and extra charges.
"Je t’aime Shangri- La Paris!!!"
What can I say besides… fabulous! The service at this hotel was truly impeccable—they even surprised me with a beautiful gift of honey from their rooftop bees, presented in a stunning crystal jar. Our suite was luxurious, featuring a spacious marble bathroom, a comfortable living area, and a lovely bedroom. While we didn’t have a view of the Eiffel Tower, the view from our room was still very pleasant. The decor was classic French style with rich colors and fabrics, creating a warm and elegant ambiance. Breakfasts were incredible, and we enjoyed drinks one evening with a small bite, which was delightful. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about this hotel!
"So so but overall beautiful hotel"
The hotel is undeniably stunning and exudes luxury. We stayed in a small suite with a direct Eiffel Tower view and balcony, which made in-room breakfasts unforgettable. However, the room itself felt a bit musty and below expectations for a €4,000/night rate. One lamp had a broken handle, we had to call for a light bulb replacement, and overall the lighting was dim. The bathroom was extremely small, the tub base didn’t feel clean enough to use comfortably, and basic amenities weren’t readily provided—something you’d expect in a high-end room. Despite these issues, I’m still giving it four stars because the staff we interacted with were excellent, attentive, and professional. The reception and lobby areas are breathtaking, capturing the quintessential Parisian elegance and charm.
"Dinner with the Eiffel Tower"
I had an amazing dinner outdoors with a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower. Having visited Paris many times, I can confidently say this dinner was exceptional. I arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar, where Nicolas, the bartender, was truly outstanding. The dinner had a lovely “Summer with Lacoste” theme, and the weather was perfect for dining outside. My server, Martina, was very attentive, and Malcom went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. I would highly recommend this dining experience to anyone visiting Paris.
"Beautiful view"
We spent a wonderful weekend in Paris at this charming inn with my fiancée, enjoying a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. The pillows were soft, the décor very French, classic, and exquisite. The Bauhinia cuisine was delicious, though portions were on the lighter side—fusion-style and more of a tasting experience than a filling meal. The inn also serves as a trendy “meeting point” for business lunches or after-work gatherings, with a lively and pleasant atmosphere in the bar during the evenings.
"Unforgettable stay at this amazing Hotel!"
From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a dream—everyone was so warm and welcoming that it almost didn’t feel real. The hotel itself is stunning, and our room was incredible, decorated exactly as requested for my wife’s birthday. Everything was immaculate and thoughtfully arranged. Unfortunately, we only stayed for two days, and we wished we could have stayed longer. This hotel has now earned a spot at the very top of our list of the best hotels we’ve ever experienced, and we will definitely return.
"Hospitality not as good"
This is a beautiful hotel, and we have stayed here many times. In the past, it truly felt like a 5-star experience. However, on this visit, the service fell short. The concierge did not respond to most of my messages, and the car arranged for our airport transfer was too small for our three suitcases, forcing us to pay for a taxi despite them knowing our luggage situation. While these may seem like small details, they made a noticeable difference—previously, we were treated like royalty, but this visit did not live up to those expectations.
"Tea time Shangri-La, a magical place, pastries that are more pretty than good"
The Shangri-La Tea Time is a feast for the eyes—the pastries are beautifully presented, charming, and seasonally inspired, from mirabelle plums to figs. The setting and service are delightful, making the experience enjoyable, especially with good company. However, the taste of the pastries falls short: some were bitter or dry, like the raspberry croissant-style pastry, leaving the flavor lacking compared to the visual appeal. While the moment itself is pleasant, the price-to-taste ratio is not quite justified. I wouldn’t discourage visiting entirely, but don’t expect the pastries to match the excellence of the surroundings.
"Spectacular views!"
Our stay was a memorable one, though it began unexpectedly—upon arrival, we were sent to another hotel due to a complete water shutdown here. We moved to this hotel the next day, and the staff kindly assisted with transferring our luggage from the other beautiful property. The main reason for choosing this hotel was the Duplex Suite with its breathtaking Eiffel Tower view. The room was decorated in traditional French style (not modern) and had a very comfortable bed. Our arrival was delightful, with Champagne, macarons, cake, and an array of sweets waiting for us. Every night, we fell asleep watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle right outside our window—that was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. Turn-down service was provided each evening, which was especially appreciated since we were sharing a bathroom with our daughter and needed extra towels. While the hotel could benefit from some remodeling, overall it was a lovely and memorable stay.
"Not worth the money"
My husband booked a two-night stay here as a surprise for our wedding anniversary. While the hotel is undeniably beautiful, our experience was marred by the staff’s attitude and approach. Upon arrival, we were incorrectly told our booking was for a standard room with no Eiffel Tower view and were aggressively upsold a room at €1,600 per night. The hard-sell and condescending tone were off-putting and created a poor first impression. Our actual room was lovely, but the sitting area had curtains that didn’t close properly, letting daylight stream in early and disrupting our sleep. The hotel felt cold and unfriendly; even the bar seemed unwelcoming, with exorbitant cocktail prices deterring guests. Breakfast was good, but staff seemed overly focused on what was included or not, making the experience unnecessarily rigid. Having stayed at many luxury hotels worldwide, I felt Shangri-La misses the mark. Service felt transactional rather than attentive, leaving us disappointed. Unfortunately, I would not return, as there are likely far nicer and more hospitable options in Paris.
