"Amazing Stay At Shangri La Phnom Penh"

We received a warm and heartfelt welcome from the entire Shangri-La Phnom Penh team. Special thanks to Mr. Odi (General Manager) and Mr. Calvin (Rooms Division Manager) for their exceptional hospitality. Housekeeping did an amazing job taking care of Suite 4513 during our stay. Dining at Shang Palace was absolutely delicious, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and the ground-floor café was very good. The reception-level bar and restaurant offered a wonderful experience as well. The gym and spa were top-notch, and the spa treatments were incredibly relaxing. Overall, the stay was flawless — truly deserving of a full 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Not recommend to celebrate the event at Shangri La"

My experience staying at the hotel was generally good — the atmosphere was pleasant, and the hospitality service during regular stays was excellent. However, I would not recommend this hotel for hosting small or large events. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the service and food provided during a recent event held at your hotel on 12 July 2025. The food service was extremely slow, causing significant delays in the event schedule and inconvenience to our staff. Furthermore, the quality of the food was below expectations, with most dishes being overly salty and not meeting the standard we anticipated from your establishment. We chose this venue expecting a high level of professionalism and hospitality, but unfortunately, the experience did not reflect that. I hope you take this feedback seriously and work to improve both kitchen service timing and food quality for future events. Thank you.

"Business Trip — staying at Shangri-la Phonom Penh"

During my business trip, I received a very warm welcome from Kriz, the Guest Services Manager. The rooms were exceptionally clean and offered a wonderful view. The service from the entire Shangri-La team was excellent, and the breakfast selection was impressive, with plenty of choices. I will definitely return to Shangri-La Phnom Penh!

"This is not a Shangri-La brand hotel"

As a longtime admirer of Shangri-La as a top 5-star luxury brand, I was very excited about its opening in Phnom Penh. Unfortunately, my experience at Kommune – Dining & Social Space was disappointing and felt like a waste of money. Compared to other Shangri-La properties like Sydney or Bangkok, the customer service here was unprofessional and far below expectations. As Khmer guests, we didn’t feel welcomed — there were no smiles or greetings, unlike the treatment of Western guests. The menu was basic, with no signature dishes or meaningful recommendations; when asked, staff simply replied, “Everything is delicious.” Both the restaurant staff and manager were rude and lacked the professionalism expected of a 5-star hotel. Honestly, the food quality was worse than street food, and I would not recommend dining there. Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra and Rosewood Phnom Penh remain far superior choices. On a positive note, our visit to the Mekong Lounge and the guest rooms was much better. Mr. Barang, Guest Service Manager, and Ms. Thida at the front desk provided outstanding hospitality. Special thanks to Mr. Barang for recommending Shangri-La tea, which brought back fond memories of other Shangri-La properties like Sydney. He truly enhanced my weekend. The rooms were beautifully designed and refreshing, but the poor restaurant service overshadowed the overall experience. For a 5-star international luxury brand, service standards must improve. Until then, I recommend Sofitel and Rosewood as the best hotel options in Phnom Penh.

"A wonderful hospitality team at a modern Shangri-La"

We were warmly welcomed by the General Manager, Mr. Ody, and the Rooms Manager, Mr. Calvin Ooi, who ensured a smooth and hospitable check-in for our party of three. Even arriving after the Horizon Club canapé hours, we were offered drinks and freshly prepared snacks, reflecting their attentive service. Calvin even personally contacted the manager of Rasa Sayang Hotel in Penang to check on any special requirements from a previous stay, adding a thoughtful personal touch. As first-time guests, we appreciated the brief overview of the city’s history, cuisine, and must-visit attractions, which enriched our experience. The hotel itself is exceptional — a modern, designer’s dream exuding elegance and luxury. The contemporary décor, panoramic views from the Mekong Lounge and health club balcony, and breathtaking scenery made our stay memorable. Our room, amenities, and furnishings were of the highest quality, with thoughtful touches such as additional dining and kitchen amenities. The foam memory pillow provided without request exemplified the hotel’s attention to detail. Breakfast was a visual and culinary delight, featuring high-quality local ingredients. Mr. Stephen Lim, Director of Operations, personally greeted me by name and ensured I was aware of the vegetarian options, demonstrating outstanding professionalism and care. Additionally, we were reassured about our airport transfer the evening before check-out, allowing ample time for traffic and procedures. Kudos to the entire Shangri-La Phnom Penh team for an unforgettable stay. We look forward to returning!
