Shangri‑La’s Eros Hotel

"A Truly immersive experience (6D like)"
We were a group of ~70 for a family reunion to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of my Bua and Phuphaji (Aunt & Uncle). Thank you to the Mangliks for being excellent hosts as always! The stay was nice and the family time was truly memorable. But the "cherry on top" (with a side of mushy corn and tomatoes) was when a drunk man vomited his entire breakfast and drinks all over me and my 3-year-old son. This happened around 10:05 AM (23rd June) on Floor 1, right outside the men’s restroom next to Zahra restaurant. I asked 4–5 staff members for a towel but ultimately had to walk back shirtless to my room. It was a choice between dignity and the unbearable stench—the stench won. I left my once-worn T-shirt behind in the restroom and bid it farewell. To be fair, the staff handled it in the most "safe" way possible: by pretending it never happened. No offers for laundry service, no apology, no gesture. And as breakfast was already "over by 10:30," better luck next time. TL;DR – Biohazard on weekends. Keep your kids far away.
"Fantastic Stay with Friendly Staff and Immaculate Rooms!"
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were spotless. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.
"Never again"
We are Shangri-La Diamond members and have enjoyed every stay at the hotel worldwide—except in Delhi. The concept of tier membership seems completely lost here. The attention to detail and elevated services that are standard in other properties were nowhere to be found. The suites felt rundown and unimpressive, and there was no effort to go the extra mile for a Diamond member. Worse, even the entitled benefits were made to feel like a favour rather than a privilege. An absolutely disappointing stay that fell far short of Shangri-La’s global standards.
"Excellent Stay"
I had a fantastic experience at Shangri-La Eros. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel valued throughout my stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped, offering everything needed for a comfortable visit. The breakfast buffet was truly outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The location is also perfect—close to Connaught Place and major attractions, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Delhi!
"Participating in a wedding without my own desire ))"
The hotel itself was fine—nice room, comfortable bed, beautiful view from the window, and a great breakfast. While it’s not a new property, it is well-maintained and overall pleasant. Unfortunately, my stay coincided with a wedding celebration. The event lasted until midnight and was extremely noisy, and to make matters worse, the partying continued in the room next to mine until 4 a.m. Calls to the reception for assistance went unanswered, which was very disappointing. A good hotel, but my experience was completely overshadowed by the lack of noise control and unresponsive service during the wedding celebrations.
"Do Not Stay At This Hotel"
We arrived expecting a relaxing end to our three-week trip across India, but unfortunately, this stay was a huge letdown. After check-in, we enquired about directions to the pool only to be informed that it had been closed for renovations since July 2024. This crucial detail was never mentioned at the time of booking or during check-in. We were offered the option to use a nearby hotel’s pool at no charge, but the facilities there were inadequate – only 8 seats, no umbrellas, and minimal service. This was far from the relaxing experience we had planned for our last day. Adding to the disappointment, the refrigerator in our room did not work. After four unsuccessful attempts to get it fixed, we gave up. We had paid a substantial amount to extend our stay until 8 p.m. due to our midnight flight, but the service did not match the premium price we paid. To make matters worse, when we voiced our frustration, the arrogant manager grudgingly extended our stay past the proposed 6 p.m. checkout and offered to send an ice bucket for our warm wine—yet it never arrived. This experience was completely unacceptable for a five-star brand. Poor communication, unresolved issues, and a general lack of care have left us determined never to book with this hotel chain again.
"A disappointment…."
We stayed for two nights after a long flight from the UK, arriving for an early morning check-in around 4:00 a.m. Our room, described by Booking.com as a Deluxe King Room, was a fairly standard international hotel room. It was oddly shaped and slightly over-furnished, but it did have a large, comfortable bed, controllable air conditioning, decent Wi-Fi, a large desk, a window seat, fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities, and a bathroom with a glass wall (with an electric blind). Storage and a safe were provided. The room was quiet, with no corridor or external noise since we were at the back of the hotel, though there was no view to speak of. We missed breakfast the first morning and opted for an expensive brunch in the coffee shop. On the second day, we had an early departure but managed breakfast from the extensive buffet. It was tricky to find items and we ended up just grabbing what we could. Dinner in the restaurant was underwhelming and overpriced, at international price points. The hotel makes a great first impression with its ornate reception area, polished lifts, and carpeted corridors, but overall it failed to deliver a true 5-star experience.
"Helpful staff"
Ayan and Manoj were truly helpful and cooperative during our overnight display for the conference. They ensured we had water and tea service throughout the night and were always attentive to our needs. Their dedication and professionalism made a big difference—thank you both for the excellent support!
"Mediocre at best"
Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The property was undergoing major renovations—something that was not disclosed at the time of booking—which rendered most of the key facilities such as the pool, gym, and business centre unavailable. For a five-star property, this level of disruption really warrants a full closure rather than operating in such a diminished state. To make matters worse, the food in the main restaurant was overpriced and average in quality. A simple black coffee in the café was shockingly priced at over $10. Service was equally concerning. At one point, the door mechanism in my room failed, leaving me trapped inside. Despite raising the alarm with the turn-down service, no one came for fifteen minutes. I had to be very assertive with the receptionist over the phone before anyone arrived to release me. Finally, we were misinformed about the breakfast timings, which caused significant inconvenience on the final day. Overall, this was a very mediocre experience marked by poor management and lack of communication. There are certainly many better options in Delhi that offer a true five-star experience.
"wonderful"
Shangri-La Eros is undoubtedly the best hotel in the city! The rooms are incredibly spacious and offer stunning views from the windows. Its central Delhi location makes it the perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers. The restaurant boasts a wide range of cuisines, ensuring there’s something for everyone. And the lounge on the 19th floor is simply exceptional – the ambiance, service, and attention to detail are second to none. A truly outstanding stay in every way!
"3 STAR HOTEL"
The hotel looks grand from the outside, but our stay was very disappointing. Many facilities were closed due to refurbishments – no swimming pool, no gym, no spa, no gardens – leaving very little to enjoy on-site. The corridors had an overpowering damp and solvent smell, which was unpleasant, and our room was also smelly, old, and dirty. Considering the expensive rates, we had booked Shangri-La Eros expecting a true 5-star experience, but at the moment, it feels more like a 3-star hotel. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend until the renovations are fully complete.
"Fantastic situation"
Located in a central area of New Delhi, this hotel offers everything you’d expect for a comfortable stay. The staff are very attentive and the rooms are spacious and pleasant. The Chinese restaurant is excellent, and breakfast is served by friendly and welcoming staff. We stayed on the 19th floor and had access to the lounge with happy hour service, which was a lovely perk. Overall, a very nice experience and highly recommended!
