"Honest review"
We are a family of four and stayed at Sherwood for two weeks, returning home early Friday morning. Unfortunately, our experience was not what we had hoped for. While we tried to make the most of our holiday, we lost around four days due to sickness, which was incredibly disappointing. Overall, I would not return to this hotel and, sadly, cannot recommend it to friends or family.
"Overall great experience"
Overall, we had a great experience and couldn’t fault a thing. There was nothing we weren’t happy with during our stay. We would certainly come back again and happily recommend this hotel to friends and family.
"Bof"
Our experience at this hotel was underwhelming. The room had broken furniture, and dining was frustrating – if you leave your table even briefly to get a drink, everything is cleared away. On one occasion, plates were even removed before we had finished eating. The cleanliness of the swimming pool was also unacceptable. We witnessed parents allowing their children to defecate in the main pool, and shockingly, the hotel did not close the pool for proper disinfection. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be coming back.
"Hotel ok"
The hotel was okay overall but very busy, and there weren’t many other English guests during our stay. I would recommend going for tea early as it gets crowded quickly. There are plenty of pools to choose from, the water slides are brilliant, and the evening entertainment is really good. Just a note – you only get one à la carte restaurant included for free per week of your stay, but you can pay extra to book more.
"Great hotel"
All the staff were very friendly, offering great drinks and excellent service throughout our stay. Room service was also very efficient – our room was always spotless whenever we returned.
"Wouldn’t use the Sherwood again"
Sherwood Hotel felt quite average in my personal opinion. The property is a bit outdated and could definitely use some redecorating and freshening up. The dining experience in the main restaurant was particularly disappointing – the food was awful, and the hygiene standards were not what I expected. After my first day, I refused to eat there and opted for food from the outside eateries instead. That said, I can’t fault the staff overall – from the cleaners to the lifeguards, they were all great. However, I found the reception staff a little unpleasant at times. On a positive note, the entertainment was really good and enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for those who are particular about cleanliness, as some aspects can be quite off-putting.
"Holidays"
This is a good, clean hotel, though it does feel a bit dated in some areas. There are fantastic pools to choose from, and the food selection is varied with plenty of options. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which made our stay more enjoyable. It’s also set in a nice area that’s worth visiting.
"This is a poor 5 star, Jet 2 agree and rate in 4 star, I still think that’s too much."
I was pressured into doing a 5 star review for this hotel by certain staff, several people were given incentives to write 5 star reviews, so I would disregard the 5 star reviews, this is an honest interpretation of the hotel as worked for over 30 years in hospitality. A poor 5-star hotel which has proven over the 4 weeks I stayed to have consistently poor standards for food and food safety. Most of the food served at the main buffet was served cold or warm, what is a major concern as it would have been sitting in the danger zone for bacteria to multiply and to make you sick, something I experienced on several occasions in my profession opinion as a food safety consultant. The theme restaurants were ok however in my opinion I would not pay the extra 25 euros to go to. The Italian food was under cooked and a well-done steak was red inside undercooked in my opinion. The other food in the Italian, Mongolian and Turkish was ok however nothing special in taste or presentation. Another issue that was very scary, I have certain foods I can not eat due to intolerance and reactions, the staff still brought me those products, I am so luck they do not cause me the fatal reaction, my advice to you if you have any reactions or intelligence is to check, check and check again what’s in the food, or the safest solution is to book another hotel to be safer. The rooms were cleaned to a basic standard, sometimes the floors were not mopped, cups & glasses were not taken away that were dirty. When I arrived the wardrobe rail and shelves were broken, and the wardrobe was covered in dust. The entertainment some nights was very good and others not worth attending. The 2 bands that come to the hotel were very good. The swimming pool was warm and clean and gave you unlimited towels that were clean. A nice spa bath, sauna and steam room were free to use. The staff in the hotel were very good, helpful and friendly, this made the holiday better. The Guest relations tried to resolve the issues however with out success. If the hotel could sort the food out, I would have put them on the shortlist for next year, however this will not happen. I wish the hotel all the best in sorting the issues.
"Hotel"
Everything about this hotel was amazing! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the lahmacun – it’s a must-try. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!
"Good hotel with good location"
This is a fantastic hotel for families, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. The food is varied with lots of options to suit all tastes. The snack bar by the pool is perfect for lunch, and the Gözleme and Lahmacun hut is a lovely touch. The Mongolian à la carte restaurant was a highlight – highly recommend trying it! We did encounter a few minor issues, but Guest Relations were excellent. They took the time to listen and resolved everything promptly and professionally. At times there can be a short wait for drinks, mainly due to cocktails being freshly prepared, but the fridges for water are always well stocked, as is the minibar in the room. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would happily return and recommend this hotel.
"Good holiday"
Overall, we enjoyed a pleasant family vacation. While we didn’t expect too much in April as the season hadn’t fully started, we did feel that the animation team could have been more active and engaging to keep guests entertained. Unfortunately, the low energy from the animation crew slightly dampened the holiday atmosphere. On a positive note, we really appreciated the outdoor heated pool, the spotlessly clean and well-equipped gym, and the friendly teacher who greeted us warmly each morning. Special thanks also to the staff at the main restaurant for their attentive service. A good experience overall, but some areas could be more polished to elevate the holiday vibe.
