Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese

"Great choice"
Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is a charming and beautifully maintained hotel located in a peaceful neighborhood, just a pleasant 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps. The property is impeccably clean, and the staff are exceptionally warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. While the rooms are smaller than expected, they are well-designed, comfortable for two guests, and feature a very comfortable bed. Overall, it is an excellent choice for a refined and relaxing stay in Rome.
"Top hotels"
Perfectly located just steps from the Spanish Steps, this hotel offers an outstanding central base in Rome. The level of service is excellent, and the Settimo restaurant truly enchants with its beautiful city views. Highly recommended.
"At the level of a 4 star"
The hotel itself is nice, but the rooms are quite small and the level of service does not meet what one would expect from a five-star property. We stayed here for our honeymoon, yet there was no special attention or acknowledgment of the occasion, which was disappointing given the nature of the stay.
"Great hotel, comfortable and central"
We truly loved our stay at the Sofitel, where the rooms and bedding were exceptionally comfortable. The top-floor restaurant and bar are a pleasure to enjoy at any time of day, offering a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Service throughout the hotel—from reception to breakfast—was consistently attentive, considerate, and efficient, making for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
"Good hotel option for Accor members"
Our arrival set a very positive tone, as the concierge efficiently arranged an airport transfer—much appreciated after a long international flight. The front desk team were friendly and welcoming, adding to the smooth check-in experience. Using our Accor Platinum membership, we booked a suite that was spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring a lounge area, separate bedroom, two toilets, and small balconies. The bathroom and shower were impressively large, though storage space for toiletries and cosmetics was quite limited. The in-room welcome amenities acknowledging our Platinum status were a thoughtful touch, with chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco awaiting us. We also enjoyed dinner twice at the rooftop restaurant; the outdoor terrace at sunset is beautiful, and both the food and service were very good. The evening aperitivo can get quite busy, so reserving a table and arriving early is recommended. Breakfast was solid, with eggs available to order alongside the buffet selection. The hotel is well located, although its position atop a steep hill may be challenging for guests with mobility concerns. The only notable drawback was some inconsistency in room servicing, such as toiletries not being replenished and remote-control batteries not being replaced—details that should be better managed at this price point.
"Quiet Luxury with Great Views"
Overall, this hotel offers a luxurious experience in a fantastic part of Rome. Booking from overseas in another language was made easy thanks to the reservations manager, who was incredibly helpful in securing great rooms at a good price. For those who enjoy Sofitel’s offerings, joining the All Accor program is worthwhile, as the benefits and recognition enhance the stay. The staff throughout—doormen, concierges, and reception—are warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, with many able to communicate in multiple languages. We splurged on two of the hotel’s best rooms (701 and 702), which offered breathtaking views of the city and the Vatican. These rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds, excellent linen, great showers, and meticulous daily service, including turn-down. The location is superb, just a 5–10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, though the hill climb at the end of the day may be a consideration for some. Being slightly elevated, the hotel provides a peaceful retreat away from the bustle, with excellent nearby restaurants and a pharmacy conveniently close. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant is a highlight, combining good food with stunning city views. Dinner, however, was a bit underwhelming—drinks were pricey and portions modest, though this may be offset by the abundance of excellent nearby dining options. Despite minor drawbacks, this hotel is highly recommended for its comfort, service, and incredible location.
"Very nice hotel"
The standout features of this hotel are undoubtedly the superb top-floor terrace, the excellent breakfast, and the consistently high level of service. Its location near Piazza di Spagna is very convenient, while other attractions are still within a reasonable walking distance. Although the price is on the high side, it does reflect the quality of service provided.
"Luxury and Space"
This hotel offers a rare combination of luxury and spaciousness, especially for a European property. Its location is ideal—close enough to major attractions yet far enough to avoid the crowds. The staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
"Good stay"
The room was small but very clean, with a nice bathroom and comfortable amenities. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. However, there was little advantage to being an Accor Gold member, aside from receiving a complimentary drink.
"The Palace to be"
We chose Sofitel Villa Borghèse for our recent stay in Rome, and it exceeded all expectations. Ideally located on the corner of the Villa Borghèse gardens, the hotel’s elevated position offers stunning views of the city and Vatican City while remaining just minutes from Rome’s most iconic sights and monuments. Despite being close to the center and the prestigious Via Veneto, the area is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Our suite was beautifully and tastefully decorated, featuring a sunny terrace that we were fortunate to enjoy even in the late season. It was perfectly arranged and met every expectation we had for a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a daily delight, with a sumptuous buffet and panoramic views—an ideal way to start each day before exploring the city or visiting its many shops. Although we had prepared a list of must-visit restaurants, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant quickly became our favorite. The location, quality, and generosity of the food, along with attentive and thoughtful service, made each meal special. The new autumn menu highlighted authentic Roman cuisine, and dishes such as the lobster pasta and the subtly flavored rack of lamb were unforgettable. Meeting the hotel manager, Sébastien Antoine, and interacting with the friendly and professional team—including assistant director Francesca and the talented chef—added a personal touch that made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff created a warm and welcoming atmosphere without ever being obsequious. Thanks to the entire team, our stay was truly unforgettable. We look forward to returning and highly recommend this property for anyone seeking luxury, comfort, and exceptional service in Rome.
