"Great location"
The hotel is well located and offers a good breakfast. However, the lobby staff could improve in terms of warmth and hospitality. While they were friendly and serious, guests generally appreciate a warmer welcome upon arrival. Special mention to Osmar Gionditti at the lobby, who helped us resolve an issue with the staff. His assistance was much appreciated.
"Great hotel and location but rooms need a facelift"
The hotel is in an outstanding location, with easy walking access to numerous businesses and restaurants. The staff’s attention to guests is wonderful, and the lobby area is impressive. Breakfast is well-prepared, with some options available à la carte. However, the rooms are tired and dated and could definitely use an uplift to match the hotel’s reputation. That said, the rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are large and well-equipped. The staff takes great care to ensure the rooms are spotless with fresh sheets and towels, and they promptly provide anything missing. I truly hope the administration invests in updating the rooms and furniture, as the current condition does not reflect the prestige of this hotel in Lima.
"Improvements"
Overall, the stay was good, but there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The TVs should be modernized—at least in the room we stayed in, there was no access to Netflix, YouTube, or other streaming services. Additionally, the indoor pool would be better if it had a gradual depth to its maximum height, especially for the safety and comfort of children, similar to the design of the outdoor pool.
"Executive room decor needs updating"
The room décor was dated and in need of an update, and it didn’t match the images shown on the website. That said, the bed was comfortable. However, the desk area definitely needs modernizing with more built-in USB ports to allow for charging multiple devices at once.
"OVERRATED BUT DOES NOT DELIVER"
I booked this hotel hoping it would be a better alternative to the Hilton, but it turned out to be a major disappointment. Check-in was slow, and the room wasn’t ready for an hour unless I paid for an upgrade. After waiting, I was given a fairly basic room with no minibar and extremely slow internet. When I asked about faster internet, I was offered a package that included breakfast—clearly more upselling, which became a constant annoyance throughout my stay. The internet speed in the standard package is unusable for business travelers, and the rooms are noisy, with water pipes easily heard due to the building’s age and lack of proper maintenance. Cables and TV installations were left dangling, which looked messy and unprofessional. The Executive Lounge was another letdown, very basic and lacking even a decent coffee machine or proper beverage station. I’m still waiting for a callback from management regarding my escalation, but I doubt it will ever come. This hotel is a huge letdown for the once highly reputable Swissotel brand, and I will not be returning.
"Excellent service!"
We stayed for a weekend, and the experience was amazing. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff and those near the elevators were very friendly, making our first contact with the hotel feel warm and welcoming. The room was cozy, and the bed was soft and incredibly comfortable. We had dinner at La Locanda, where the gourmet dishes were both filling and delicious. Congratulations to the chef and to our waitress, Camila, who explained each dish in great detail. Breakfast at Le Café was complete and delicious, with Ana Cristina attending to us—she was very attentive and jovial. We also enjoyed the pool facilities and excellent massages. We wanted to escape the routine of Lima, and thanks to the Swissôtel team and their outstanding services, we did just that. Congratulations to everyone!
"poor management decision"
I paid for two nights but planned to stay only one, and the manager made no effort to accommodate us—no room upgrade or extra services were offered. Even while in our room, we tried to make a simple local call, and because my friend didn’t provide his credit card, it was incredibly difficult for them to let us borrow the phone for the call. For a hotel of this standard, the lack of flexibility and willingness to assist was very disappointing.
"Beautiful place for leisure and business alike"
This is a beautiful hotel with large, comfortable rooms, ample working space, and bathrooms equipped with all the necessary amenities. It is also very well located. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, and breakfast was simply stupendous. The staff are as professional and attentive as you could hope for. While it may initially appear to be a business hotel, we found it equally romantic, classy, and restful—perfect for any type of stay.
"Great Experience"
The hotel is very comfortable and quiet, with an amazing spa and a truly high-level restaurant—though it is a bit expensive. The staff are extremely kind and attentive. One of the best features is that the windows can be opened to let in fresh air instead of relying solely on air conditioning, which is quite unique and refreshing.
"Great Hotel"
The hotel is very well located in San Isidro and gives the impression of being luxurious, though it feels a bit outdated. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean, with great beds and complimentary bottled water provided daily. However, the shower towels could be larger, and the pricing at the lobby bar felt excessive—I paid 100 SOL (about 31 USD) for just two double-shot espressos and two single-shot espressos. Additionally, they charge extra for early check-in, and late check-out is very limited, offering only a one-hour extension.
"3 stars"
The best aspects of Swissotel Lima are the bed and the spa. However, the quality of the food is only average hotel fare and not what you would expect from a 5-star property. In Europe, 5 stars reflect exceptional food and service, but here, the sushi was mediocre, breakfast offered variety but lacked quality, and the coffee was a real disappointment. I had to request three cappuccinos because the milk was burned each time, and even when someone more experienced made it, the coffee beans themselves were of poor quality. For the price paid for both the stay and the food, it felt overpriced and definitely not 5-star quality. The staff at the reception were nice and professional, but I didn’t feel the same level of professionalism in the restaurants. I also had a massage at the spa, which was fine but far from exceptional. While the masseuse and room were pleasant, the massage lacked a professional touch and felt very average overall.
"Honeymoon from Hong Kong"
A very special thanks to Yuan Carlos at the front desk. While he may seem like a junior staff member at first glance, he is incredibly considerate and thoughtful, and clearly well-respected by guests. We also appreciated the kind and generous bartender in the residents' bar who treated us to a free drink! This was the final stop on our honeymoon and the only hotel where we didn’t receive an upgrade, but that’s understandable. Most of the staff were very nice, although we did encounter one less accommodating front desk member (likely someone from accounting covering the shift). We also had some noise issues in the room at night and were offered to move, but it wasn’t practical at 11 p.m. Despite these small setbacks, the overall experience was positive thanks to the great staff.
