"Incredible value accommodation with sweeping views over the Mekong"
We were lucky to stay in the penthouse suite in Phnom Penh. While not lavish, it was very comfortable, and the location is ideal for visiting markets, shopping, and main attractions, including the Royal Palace. The staff were friendly and helpful, and arranging a tuk-tuk for sightseeing was easy. There’s a beautiful French restaurant on the corner, as well as a delicious budget-friendly option just down the street. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay.
"Well located apartment type hotel"
Tao Residence is a well-located apartment-style hotel on a side street across from the river. Some apartments offer beautiful river views, while others face the quieter side street. The units are clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. The staff are courteous, professional, and highly responsive—especially the manager, Miss Chan Kagna, who is hands-on and reliable when assistance is needed. During our stay, a booking issue with Agoda could have caused problems, but Chan Kagna went above and beyond to help us secure a suitable room despite the hotel being fully booked. We stayed in a double twin room (number 301), which I would only recommend if that specific configuration is needed; the loft rooms offer better value and a more enjoyable experience than the penthouse rooms. The hotel’s location is ideal—close enough to the Riverwalk and its activities, yet far enough to avoid nighttime noise. Overall, I would recommend Tao Residence, but avoid the double twin room unless necessary.
"Faultless – TAO Riverside Residence"
This hotel is excellent, with a perfect location near the riverside and nightlife, yet far enough away to avoid any noise. The rooms are huge, featuring extremely comfortable beds and efficient air conditioning. While the accommodations are impressive, the real highlight is the staff—the most helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely lovely team you could hope for in a hotel. Having stayed in many hotels, this experience truly stands out.
"Spacious"
I stayed three nights at this hotel as a base for a conference and nearby events. My room had a street view, though some rooms offer a river view. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and I will probably choose to stay here again.
"Absolutely the best hotel in Phnom Penh"
What a place! Having visited Cambodia several times, this hotel has become my go-to. The staff are wonderful, the property is exceptionally clean, and it’s clear that money is being invested back into maintaining and improving the hotel. The Penthouse Suite is by far the best room choice. I will definitely be returning—truly an amazing place.
"Great Location and Wonderful staff"
We stayed here for three nights and had a very positive experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the riverside district with plenty of restaurants, nightlife, and shops just steps away, and many tourist sights within walking distance. Highly recommended!
"Worth returning to"
What a pleasure to discover this boutique hotel. The location, service, cleanliness, furnishings, and amenities are all of a high standard, offering excellent value for money. With many restaurants and shops nearby, and the river just a short walk away, the setting is ideal. The staff are particularly helpful and friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. I will definitely return on future visits to Phnom Penh.
"Top Floor Room"
Our room was on the top floor, very spacious and clean, with a balcony overlooking the river. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Royal Palace and close to numerous restaurants and cafés. For breakfast, we highly recommend La Croisette.
"Great Place to Stay"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tao Riverside Residence. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and staffed by friendly people, all in a fantastic location. We stayed in a penthouse studio with a great view of the river and the nearby market. The area is full of restaurants and spas, and many sights are within easy reach. We also appreciated the hotel’s proactive service—reaching out before our arrival to arrange airport transfers, which made for a smooth and welcoming start after a long day of flying.
"Superb Location"
This has become our favourite hotel in Phnom Penh. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning works perfectly. The staff are always on hand and smiling, making the stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal, with plenty of bars and a few markets just 50 metres away. Overall, a very nice hotel and highly recommended.
