"Good location for our stay in NYC. Accommodations were luxurious. Customer service was more miss than hit."

I stayed at this property for one night in April 2025 with my mom and teen. Some staff members truly stood out—Mark from valet and Ronan from bell services were exceptional, providing genuine warmth, professionalism, and personalized hospitality. Ronan, in particular, went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and attentive. The hotel is conveniently located for exploring the area, though Google Maps initially directed us to the Beekman St entrance when we actually needed the Nassau St entrance to check in and access valet parking. While the property had its strengths, several aspects left me lukewarm. At both check-in and check-out, I had to remind staff that I had used a guest-of-honor pass for one of our rooms, which affected breakfast, valet, and in-room amenities. I noticed that a solo traveler booking through Fine Hotels + Resorts received more seamless service, highlighting some inconsistencies at the front desk. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, featuring a sliding barn door for the bathroom. The bathroom had floor-to-ceiling walls but included clerestory windows near the ceiling, allowing light back into the sleeping area. Dining at Temple Court was decent—our meals, including egg white and goat cheese entrees, smoked salmon on toast, French toast, and veggie breakfast, were tasty, accompanied by coffee and juice. However, service was inconsistent; my guest’s coffee arrived late despite the restaurant being moderately busy, and there seemed to be some confusion with table numbers and food delivery. Dessert and evening drinks, including fresh fruit sorbets, panna cotta, and the cheese selection, were much better received, with smoother service. A small note: while the hotel website highlights a rooftop terrace, this area is only accessible to guests staying in penthouse suites. Overall, the staff’s excellence, especially Ronan and Mark, was a highlight, though other service inconsistencies and limitations left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed.

"Beekman is nice but…..read on McDuff"

The Beekman is a beautiful hotel, particularly appealing to those who appreciate historic architecture, not only because of its origins in the 1800s but also due to its location among several other 19th-century buildings. There are a few important things to know before booking: we reserved the least expensive room, which was small but reasonable for a four-night stay. However, our original room on the third floor was directly above the hotel’s basement nightclub, resulting in barely three hours of sleep. We requested a higher floor, and the hotel immediately accommodated us—clearly, they are aware of the noise issue for lower floors. If you book a room on the third floor, ask to be moved as high as possible to avoid disturbances. Another point to note: the AARP rate does not include additional nightly fees—$40 per night for the destination fee and roughly $6 per night for NYC occupancy and sales taxes. We initially thought these were included, but apparently not, despite comparing rates with other major booking sites. On a brighter note, the food is excellent, both in the main dining room and at Temple Court. Breakfast, ranging from $25–$50 per person, was exceptional and worth splurging on, while dinner can easily reach $250 for two. For those unfamiliar with NYC or returning after a long time, using Uber for transportation is far more comfortable and convenient than traditional taxis, especially for those with sore hips or legs.

"Loudest Hotel Ever"

The hotel’s common areas are stunning, but unfortunately our experience was marred by poor service and constant noise. Breakfast service in the restaurant was disappointing, with staff often inattentive and orders frequently incorrect. The rooms themselves were fine, though nothing special. On top of that, the hotel was incredibly loud—techno music thumped late into the night on Friday and Saturday, and noise from the hallways, construction, and other guests made sleep difficult. It seems soundproofing is minimal. Overall, I would not stay here again.

"Beautiful but LOUD"

The hotel itself is beautiful and conveniently located, with charming architecture and elegant interiors. However, our stay was seriously disrupted by a DJ playing in the basement bar until 4 a.m. on Saturday night. The noise was so loud that even with a white noise machine and earplugs, we could still hear it clearly in our room. Unfortunately, this issue was significant enough that I would not choose to stay here again.

"Nice Hotel and very Beautiful place, but we had some issues"

We enjoyed our first visit to New York City as a couple and found the hotel to be really cool, with a fun and lively vibe. That said, our stay was marred by a few service issues. For breakfast, a hair was found in my wife’s eggs, which was disappointing. Later, at the bar during last call, we were initially fine with the manager’s one-drink policy. However, when we tried to sit at a table behind the bar to enjoy our drinks and the atmosphere, the waiter insisted we leave, even though we were not occupying space intended for other guests. Ultimately, we had to retreat to our room instead of being able to enjoy the bar, which felt unnecessary and restrictive.

"Beautiful. Broody. Bougie. But please… let people sit down."

I absolutely love The Beekman. This was my fourth stay at this velvety, seductive, library-turned-nightclub of a hotel, and it’s everything a New York hotel should be for those who appreciate chandeliers, carefully placed shadows, and that subtle VIP feeling while waiting for the elevator. This visit, however, brought a few new challenges. We were generously hosted with two adjoining rooms for my family, but in true NYC fashion, one of the rooms wasn’t ready until almost 6 PM. Check-in was crowded and somewhat chaotic, which can be part of the hotel’s charm—but when juggling five kids and their luggage after a long day of travel, the “vibe-forward disarray” bordered on logistical frustration. After settling the kids into the ready room, I went to The Bar Room at Temple Court for a glass of wine, only to find six empty bar stools—but we weren’t permitted to sit. Fifteen minutes later, the bartender still hadn’t served us or apologized, citing some “VIP” status for the stools. Eventually, I enjoyed a glass of Cabernet and an Old Fashioned to take back to the room once it was finally ready. The rooms themselves were lovely as always—adjoining, which is essential for families, with two queens in one and a king with a small sofa in the other. The classic Beekman aesthetic—understated elegance with moody refinement—remains impeccable. The hotel thoughtfully sent up a welcome tray of fruit, bottled water, and some cookies and macarons for the kids, though not enough for all five. They also provided three NYC-themed coloring books, charming but slightly short of the family count. Room service, courtesy of Temple Court under Tom Colicchio, was excellent—the burger was exceptional, and the truffle fries disappeared quickly thanks to enthusiastic little hands. The understated Nassau Street entrance adds to the speakeasy-like vibe, and the location near Tribeca, the 9/11 Memorial, and excellent coffee and bagel spots is ideal. The Beekman isn’t marketed as a kid-focused hotel, but it is child-friendly for well-behaved children who are comfortable with whispered corridors, soft jazz, and ambient lighting. My daughter loved the small sofa in the room, and I did too. Would I return? Absolutely. The Beekman is a landmark, meticulously maintained, and brimming with historic NYC atmosphere. Next time, I’ll plan to arrive later in case rooms aren’t ready, avoid attachment to particular barstools, and perhaps bring an extra cookie or two.

"A gorgeous, comfortable stay, surrounded by beautiful things"

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, with wonderful staff and delicious food. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the shower has excellent water pressure. One important note: the hotel sprays a “signature scent” in the guest rooms. If you have allergies like I do, it’s wise to call ahead and request that they skip this for your room.

"A gem"

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Beekman to celebrate our birthdays, and from the moment we checked in, everything felt special. The vibe was perfect, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the bar was fantastic—we ended up hanging out there after dinner, sipping drinks and soaking it all in. Later in the night, we could hear some street noise, but that’s just part of the city experience and not something the hotel could control. Before checking out, we enjoyed the beautiful gym, a delightful breakfast, and live jazz music, which tied everything together perfectly. If you want to feel like a princess for a few days, this is the place to do it.

"Perfect staycation getaway"

We had a fantastic staycation at this beautiful hotel. Our room was gorgeous—a real treat—and the hotel’s bar and nightlife added a lively, enjoyable vibe. Breakfast service could have been better, but thanks to our AMEX perks, the overall experience was excellent. My only wish is that the bar stayed open longer! Despite that, we would definitely return for another stay.

"Great Hotel with Character"

The Beekman in New York City provides an exceptional experience with its stunning historical detail, prime location near the Fulton Street subway stop, and outstanding service. The staff, particularly Nyima in housekeeping, provided thoughtful and welcoming hospitality. I can't wait to go back to visit on my next trip to New York!
