"Understated luxury with great combo of location and amenities"

The Greenwich Hotel is our preferred choice when visiting our kids or handling business in New York. We bring our two dogs, and the hotel perfectly accommodates them while offering the location and amenities we value. The fitness center and spa are first-rate, the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are cozy, calming, and thoughtfully designed.

"A stunning NYC gem, high end neighborhood vibes, original with class"

I had a quick stay—far too short to fully enjoy this hotel—but even one night was enough to be impressed. The location is fantastic for exploring New York’s trendiest neighborhoods, quieter and less frantic than Midtown. The hotel itself is a true oasis of calm, charm, and class. If you’ve only experienced the usual hotel brands and locations, the Greenwich will convince you that boutique is the way to go in New York. Top marks all around, and the staff were exceptionally kind and genuine—the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful stay.

"Great vibe, decor and location."

Located in a very cool part of New York, away from the bustling crowds and noise, this hotel offers beautiful décor with a warm, homely feel and carefully chosen furniture. The staff are great and attentive, making the stay enjoyable. My only disappointment was the lack of coffee or tea-making facilities in the room. At £1,100 per night, one would reasonably expect this amenity, and I’ve rarely stayed in a hotel that didn’t provide it. A real shame, but otherwise a lovely experience.

"Can’t wait to go back!"

An understated exterior belies the calm and inviting atmosphere inside. The hotel is staffed with friendly, helpful people and is ideally located near the Financial District and the Hudson River. On our first day, we even walked from the hotel all the way to The Vessel. Our 7th-floor room faced the interior courtyard, which meant no street noise and an almost silent environment—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. After long days of exploring, it was a treat to return to our made-up room and enjoy the complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar. We dined in the interior courtyard two nights in a row. The menu, from the adjacent Locanda Verde Tribeca, was excellent—especially the Frico Potatoes. The courtyard, with its tall plants, offered both privacy and coziness, creating a quiet setting where we could enjoy conversation without raising our voices. The hotel also features two inviting lounges on the main floor, which were well used during our stay. We look forward to returning and enjoying them again on a future visit.

"An Oasis in The Heart of Tribeca"

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Greenwich during the festive season in New York City. The location is ideal—quiet and away from the relentless crowds of Midtown or the Village, yet still close to all the action. This hotel stands out with its unique décor and intimate style, offering a distinctly personal experience that chain luxury hotels cannot match. Our courtyard-facing room was a true oasis, completely free of traffic or city noise. The beds were fantastic, and the complimentary mini-bar was a very welcome touch. The private guest lounge is a perfect place to start or end your day, with its peaceful ambiance, gorgeous décor, and cozy fireplace—a charming NYC winter experience. The reason for not giving a full five stars relates to service and dining. While the front desk staff were exceptional and friendly, the servers in the guest lounge and at Locanda Verde were painfully slow, often needing to be flagged down for simple requests like coffee refills or drinks. Breakfast at Locanda Verde offered limited options and was somewhat bland. Overall, The Greenwich is a remarkable hotel that provides a unique, intimate experience and a welcome retreat from the frenetic energy of the city.

"Excellent stay! Recommended."

We stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Breakfast was delicious, and the pool area was divine—relaxing there with a fresh newspaper in the morning was pure bliss. Afterward, returning to our room for a luxurious shower made for a perfect start to the day. The bed was comfortable, and small details like the champagne and cookie waiting upon arrival were splendid touches. The on-site restaurant is a must-visit, and room service was excellent. Overall, this was a truly exceptional stay that we would highly recommend!

"Fabulous experience!"

My husband and I stayed here for our 14-year anniversary weekend and absolutely loved it! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay truly enjoyable. The location is fantastic, with an excellent on-site restaurant and plenty of other great dining options within walking distance. A fun highlight: Robert De Niro was actually in the lobby bar the first night we were there! The hotel thoughtfully provides two baskets of snacks—one with small candies and the other with larger snacks—completely free and replenished daily. All non-alcoholic beverages are also complimentary, which was such a nice touch. We’ve stayed at many top hotels over the years, and this one ranks among the very best. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit to New York!

"Nice but with annoying details."

The hotel is very nice, with a cozy lounge and a great restaurant. However, a few details felt off for an upscale property. Having a way to make your own coffee in the room would be much appreciated. Additionally, the room entrance doors are extremely thin—every sound from the hallway is clearly audible, from children playing to couples being loud. For a 5-star stay, better soundproofing would make a big difference.

"I’ll be back"

I’ve stayed at nearly every hotel in New York City, and I’ve finally found my spot. I’m writing this poolside in the serene, Kyoto-inspired pool area, which alone is worth the stay. The rooms are fantastic—spacious, with comfortable bedding, well-designed bathrooms, and thoughtful little touches throughout. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the service. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and go out of their way to accommodate guests without any attitude. Tribeca itself is a wonderful neighborhood to explore, adding even more to the experience. I’ll be back—over and over again!

"“Used” to be my favorite hotel in New York"

We’ve always loved The Greenwich and stayed here multiple times, but our last visit was extremely disappointing and will be our last. Our deluxe room had a ripped chair, there was no room service on our second day, and tables in the drawing room were reserved for “investors,” forcing us to go elsewhere in Tribeca. The biggest issue, however, was erroneous charges on our bill—one for a massage for a man we had never heard of, which staff insisted must have been us, and several dining charges that weren’t ours. While we’ve overlooked issues in the past due to Covid, being made to feel like a second-class guest at a luxury hotel is unacceptable. Never again.

The Greenwich Hotel

Located in Tribeca, The Greenwich Hotel offers a blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. Its serene courtyard and renowned spa provide a peaceful retreat in the city.
