"Best Fish and Chips in London with a Cozy European Charm"

We visited The Ivy specifically for the fish and chips and were not disappointed — it was hands down the best we had in London! Be sure to make a reservation, as it's a popular spot. Upon arrival, they take your coat and provide a number for easy collection later, which added a nice touch of service. The atmosphere is cozy and calm — especially notable given the typically compact European settings compared to the U.S. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with top-notch food and thoughtful service.

"Delicious Food, but a Bit Too Close for Comfort"

The food at The Ivy was fantastic, especially the perfectly cooked beef Wellington. The service was friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. However, we were a bit disappointed when the restaurant seated another couple uncomfortably close to us, even though the place was mostly empty at the time. It made it difficult to have a private conversation, as it felt like our conversation was spilling over to the next table. On the bright side, we did end up influencing their meal, as they were essentially sitting in the middle of our dining experience! Despite this, the great food and service kept the evening enjoyable.

"Cozy British Dining with a Musical Touch"

The Ivy offers a delightful British dining experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere. During our visit, we enjoyed the added charm of live music, which made the evening even more special. We ordered the two standout dishes on the menu: shepherd’s pie and haddock & chips. Both were flavorful, well-prepared, and served in generous portions. A fantastic spot for anyone craving classic British fare in a vibrant setting.

"A Perfect Pre-Theatre Treat at The Ivy"

I brought my husband here as a special treat before our theatre show — and wow, it was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were all outstanding — truly a credit to The Ivy. Their service made the evening feel extra special. Thank you to everyone for a memorable and lovely night. (Only wish I’d caught a glimpse of Cliff Richard! 🤣 xx)

"Outstanding Food, Disappointing Service"

The food at The Ivy was absolutely to die for — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the cuisine. Our waiter seemed more concerned with his appearance than attending to our table or listening to our requests. Despite spending over £200 on lunch and drinks, the experience was let down by inattentive service. Having dined at The Ivy several times in the past — especially during my time at Colgrave House with Arcadia — I expected the same high level of customer care that once defined this establishment. Disappointed, I asked for the 13.5% service charge to be removed and personally tipped the only staff member who truly stood out: a helpful and courteous young blonde bartender, possibly Polish or Ukrainian. She was the only one who genuinely deserved it. At times, it felt like a scene from Pretty Woman — and not in a good way. It shouldn’t take designer labels to be treated with respect. The Ivy still excels in the kitchen, but front-of-house has some serious catching up to do.

"Lovely Atmosphere and Delicious Food — Can’t Wait to Return!"

The Ivy is a beautiful spot with a warm, welcoming vibe and friendly staff. The food was delicious — we enjoyed everything we ordered! While some dishes felt a little on the pricey side, the quality made it worthwhile. My husband had the fish and chips, and it was fantastic — I’m definitely getting that next time we visit!
