"Friendly Service and Nice Atmosphere, but Food Fell Short of Expectations"
First off, the service was great — warm and friendly throughout. The atmosphere was pleasant, though a bit uninspiring. The reason for my average 3-star rating lies in the food. While certainly good, the mains felt basic and nothing truly stood out as “incredible” for a £120 4-course meal. My wife didn’t even finish her fish or pork dishes, losing interest partway through. For the first time ever at a Michelin restaurant, I found myself adding pepper to both mains to boost the flavor. On a positive note, the small courses in between were interesting, though not outstanding. The desserts were very good, skillfully mixing textures — in fact, they were the highlight and what I expected from every course. Perhaps we experienced a unique off night, but overall, given the quality and price, we wouldn’t recommend The Ledbury to friends.
"Exceptional Food and Unforgettable Service at The Ledbury"
The Ledbury delivered an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was out of this world, as expected, but what truly surprised me was the service—a perfect balance of attentive and relaxed. This created, in my opinion, the best atmosphere I've ever experienced in a high-end restaurant. Chef Graham personally introduced what I can honestly say was the best lamb dish I've ever tasted. Bravo! Expect us back.
"Warm Welcome and Stellar Service Make for a Memorable Evening, Though Dessert Could Improve"
We visited The Ledbury on our honeymoon with high expectations — and overall, it was a fantastic experience. If I could, I’d rate it a solid 4.6 out of 5, but alas, Google doesn’t allow decimals. Arriving for the first seating on a Saturday at 6 pm, we were warmly greeted, had our coats checked, and were surprised with a thoughtful handwritten congratulations card — a lovely personal touch that set the tone for the evening. The staff’s genuine warmth and polite conversation really stood out, making us feel truly welcomed. The appetizers arrived while we were choosing drinks and were amazing. The pacing of the meal was excellent: we never felt rushed nor left waiting too long. The sommelier was passionate and knowledgeable, providing excellent wine pairings throughout. I found the goat’s milk butter a bit too strong for my taste, but it was an interesting addition. The variety of venison cuts was intriguing and delicious. Where I felt some room for improvement was in the dessert selection, which didn’t quite match the rest of the meal. Still, the overall experience was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Ledbury.
"High-Quality Tasting Menu, But Lacking a “Wow” Moment"
I opted for the eight-course tasting menu priced at £250, with a six-course option also available for £200. Every dish was of supreme quality and clearly crafted with care, but none truly delivered that memorable “wow” factor I was hoping for.
"Wonderful Dining Experience with Thoughtful Pescatarian Options"
Had a great time here with my friends. My pescatarian friend appreciated the thoughtful adjustments made to cater to her needs. Everything was beautifully presented. My main course, venison, was cooked to perfection and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The chocolate dessert wasn’t quite to my taste, but my friends really enjoyed theirs!
"A Refined Dining Experience with Subtle Changes Over Time"
Dining at The Ledbury is truly a pleasure and befitting its Michelin stars. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of central London in the quiet neighborhood of Notting Hill, I especially appreciate the calm atmosphere both arriving and leaving the restaurant. Having visited since 2012, I’ve noticed some subtle changes over the years. Nowadays, the tasting menu is the only option offered at dinner, with the à la carte menu available only at lunchtime. They also used to offer a lovely variety of breads and rolls, but now there’s just one type of bread. It’s these little details that you notice gradually “slipping.” Another minor point: I believe the menu should say “Olive Oil,” not “Olive Oli.” For our anniversary dinner, there was a thoughtful card on our table, though oddly dated a few days earlier rather than on the actual date of our visit — a small but telling sign of the subtle changes happening. Service remains impeccable. One server even noticed my fondness for their sourdough bread crusts and brought me more without me asking, which was highly commendable. Personally, I prefer the à la carte menu, making The Ledbury an ideal choice for lunch. Definitely recommended.
