"Could have been better…"

We spent three nights in March 2025 in a Skybox Loft room—cozy and nicely appointed, though quite compact. The hotel is conveniently located within a short walk of multiple subway lines, and the surrounding area offers a wide variety of restaurants and excellent bars. Check-in, however, was frustrating. Arriving just after 3 PM, we were told our room wasn’t ready, and that the staff would take our luggage up while we waited at the bar. They promised the room would be ready in 10–15 minutes and would notify us, but an hour later, with no updates, we had to return to reception to finally get our keys and luggage. A simple gesture like a complimentary drink would have been appropriate given the delay. Mid-stay, we discovered a notice about boiler maintenance cutting hot water from midnight to 8 AM. Unsurprisingly, there was still no hot water at 7 AM, causing a major inconvenience for our schedule, especially at over $500 per night. Additionally, the shower temperature dial was faulty and had to be propped up to maintain a comfortable temperature. While the décor is attractive and the location vibrant, service missteps and amenity issues made this stay less than seamless. We would not choose The Ludlow for future visits.

"Wedding Weekend"

We stayed at the Ludlow for our wedding weekend and couldn’t have been happier! The staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely excited for us, upgrading our room and gifting a bottle of prosecco that made us feel so special. The rooms are chic, and the lobby lounge and bar were perfect for relaxing between wedding festivities. Check-in and check-out were effortless, and the location offers a fantastic downtown vibe close to all the best spots. Highly recommended for a memorable NYC stay!

"Enjoyable stay on the Lower East Side"

We had a lovely stay at the Ludlow for our anniversary! The hotel kindly upgraded our room and even sent a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate, which was a wonderful touch. The location is excellent, close to many bars and restaurants, and conveniently near the subway, making it easy to explore different parts of the city. The rooftop is a fantastic spot to unwind in the evening, and our 15th-floor room offered a pleasant view of Brooklyn. The bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is generally quiet with only light street noise. A couple of minor drawbacks: there was a strange smell in the hallways and elevator (not in our room), and weekends could get a bit loud in the hall late at night. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially for adults, as it has a grown-up vibe—though I wouldn’t bring young children. Nearby, we recommend visiting Russ & Daughters, Fish Cheeks, Sonnyboy, and the Tenement Museum.

"First time visiting LES"

I made my reservation over the phone, and Jolyn was incredibly helpful and kind! It was my first time visiting the Lower East Side, and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but she made the entire process seamless. It was one of the best decisions I made—thank you, Jolyn, for an amazing experience!

"AMAZING BOUTIQUE HOTEL"

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The bed was very comfortable, the décor stylish and modern, and the high-pressure rain shower was fantastic. Housekeeping kept the room spotless, and the intimate lounge was a great place to relax. The hotel’s location is excellent—close to the subway and plenty of restaurants—and I appreciated that the floors are not carpeted. Special thanks to Christian and Andy for their outstanding help and friendliness. On the downside, while the bedroom design is trendy and hip, it isn’t the most functional. The nightstand was extremely small, so I had to place my phone on the floor, which was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise great stay.

"My NYC mainstay"

I’m always excited to return to my go-to NYC spot, The Ludlow Hotel. Located in the Lower East Side, it perfectly balances style and grit. Big shout out to Jolyn in reservations for handling all our requests with efficiency and a positive attitude. If Omar is on duty, expect the warmest of welcomes upon arrival!

"Loving the Ludlow"

This hotel has an excellent location, comfortable rooms, and outstanding service. The rooms are on the smaller side but thoughtfully designed. One thing to note: the hotel charges the full amount on arrival. If you pay with a different card at checkout, the initial charge will be refunded minus any currency conversion differences. My credit card company managed to return the difference ($150 for 5 days), but to avoid complications, it’s best to use a single card for the entire stay. Overall, a very positive experience.

"New York Trip"

This hotel is a great choice for a trip to New York, offering easy access to subways and plenty of nearby spots to eat or grab a drink. Our room was on the smaller side but well-appointed and perfectly adequate for our stay. If you’re tired of the big, impersonal chain hotels, this property’s old-school charm is a refreshing change. Reception and bar staff were exceptionally friendly. We booked our airport transfer through the hotel, which was convenient. The cozy bar and rooftop terrace are lovely touches—perfect in warmer months, though a bit chilly in February. The only minor improvement would be new cushions in the restaurant seating. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit.

"A lot to like"

The Ludlow exudes a great vibe with attentive service and thoughtful details. Our room was small but well furnished; however, the low ceiling and extra furniture made it feel a bit claustrophobic. We loved the shower, towels, and sheets. During our two-night stay, we barely interacted with staff, which suited us perfectly, though others might prefer more engagement. The Lower East Side feels lively—almost frat-party-like—but if that doesn’t bother you, the location is very convenient for Soho, the East Village, and multiple subway lines. The coffee shop next door is excellent. This wasn’t my absolute best stay, but the Ludlow has enough charm and amenities that I’d happily return.

"Didn’t meet expectations"

The Ludlow has a great location just south of Houston, on the same block as Katz’s Deli, and the staff are pleasant and accommodating. Public areas are stylish and inviting. Unfortunately, the room itself was very small—barely enough space for a single suitcase, let alone two. The bed was extremely squeaky, making it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep. While staff sent an engineer to tighten the frame, it didn’t improve the situation. The restaurant food was decent, but service was slow and indifferent. Overall, for the price, we feel there are better options in the area and would likely choose another hotel next time.

The Ludlow Hotel

Located on the Lower East Side, The Ludlow mixes bohemian charm with modern sophistication; many rooms have large windows and views over the city or bridges. It’s great for those interested in trendy nightlife, art scenes, and a neighborhood vibe rather than just tourist hotspots.
