The NoMad Hotel

"Beautiful hotel, great location"
I’ve been staying at this hotel for many years, dating back to when it was the NoMad Hotel (before it was purchased and rebranded by The Ned). Our most recent stay was overall good, but there were some communication and noise issues. To their credit, the staff worked hard to resolve them and were consistently accommodating, so I don’t fault the team—they were excellent. The hotel itself is housed in a gorgeous Art Deco building, and the rooms remain unique and charming compared to other hotels in the city. My favorite is the Grand Room, located at the end of the hall and usually quieter. The Classic Room beside it is also well designed and comfortable. A highlight for me is the thoughtful in-room touches: complimentary coffee and tea setup, often with a tin of delicious cookies, plus bathrooms stocked with an impressive selection of bath products—three to four different shampoos and multiple shower gels in varying scents. The abundance of options almost feels comical, but I love using them all. The location is one of my favorites in New York—just blocks from Madison Square Park and walkable to both uptown and downtown (if you enjoy long city walks). The neighborhood has also grown a lot in recent years, with plenty right outside the door. That said, outward-facing rooms toward Broadway can be very noisy for light sleepers. My only real disappointment has been how the rebranding has changed the vibe of the common spaces. The former restaurant is now a lounge-style area with entertainment, and to reach the bar or library, you have to walk directly through other guests. Both the bar and library feel quieter and less lively than they used to be. During the NoMad era, the bar frequently made lists of the best in the world, and unfortunately, that atmosphere has disappeared. I hope The Ned reconsiders how the lounge, bar, and library are being utilized, as these spaces used to be a highlight of staying here. Overall, it’s still a lovely hotel with standout staff and character, but a few tweaks—better communication, noise management, and a rethink of the social spaces—would go a long way toward bringing it back to its former glory.
"A Perfect Blend of Quality, Atmosphere, and Hospitality at The Ned NYC"
Our experience at The Ned in New York was fantastic. The food was of excellent quality, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff made our group feel genuinely welcome, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The wine and cocktails were expertly crafted, pairing beautifully with the meal. The location is superb, with the rooftop terrace being a true highlight—offering stunning views and a perfect place to relax and socialize. The Little Ned bar adds a stylish, trendy vibe, while Cecconi’s restaurant provides a quieter, more intimate setting for dining. Overall, it was a memorable evening and a place we would gladly recommend.
"Beautiful hotel, excellent restaurant with great food & wine."
We enjoyed a delightful evening at Cecconi’s at The Ned NoMad, where the staff was consistently helpful, friendly, and professional. The food was excellent—beautifully prepared and full of flavor—and the wine list impressed us with its range of varietals and geographic diversity. The restaurant itself is stylishly furnished in a contemporary yet welcoming way, and on the night we visited it was bustling with guests, creating a lively but comfortable atmosphere. Altogether, it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience and one we’d be happy to repeat. Well worth a visit.
"100 Stars, simply the B E S T‼️‼️"
The B E S T: customer service at the front desk, the mattress, the linens (love that they still use proper duvet covers instead of multiple flat sheets), the pillows, the amazing in-room amenities, and housekeeping—literally everything was perfect! And trust me, when it comes to hotels, I’m very difficult to please. We especially appreciated that our room faced the atrium—it was wonderfully quiet at night, almost like being in a sensory deprivation tank. Service in the restaurant and bars was absolutely on point: kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. The location is unbeatable, with a subway stop just steps from the front door. Personally, I never stay north of 30th Street (too busy and touristy) or in the residential feel of the Upper East/West Side. The Ned NoMad hits the sweet spot—perfectly situated south of 30th and north of 14th. Having stayed at many NYC hotels, including the Greenwich, The Ned NoMad is by far my absolute favorite. Sending a big, solid-gold thank you to the entire team—xx!
"It stunk. Literally."
We booked two rooms for a family visit with my wife and two adult children. Unfortunately, one of the rooms had a strong sewage odor that made it completely unpleasant. The hotel was unable to resolve the issue the first evening and couldn’t move us to another room. It was finally fixed the next morning, but by then the experience had already been ruined. What made it worse is that there was no gesture of goodwill—not even something as simple as offering us a drink. For a property that claims five-star standards, this level of service is unacceptable. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
"Not a very good experience"
The staff members came across as arrogant, leaving me with the impression that we were somehow “doing them a favor” by staying there. As a SoHo House member, this was a very different experience from what I’ve had at other SoHo House properties. The room itself was fine, and I was traveling with my two teenage children. While I understand the rule prohibiting them from entering the Little Ned bar area, I was surprised to see a child of about nine years old inside with their parents. When I asked the host about this, I was told it was “an exception.” When I asked what the exception was, she couldn’t give me an answer and responded rudely instead. On the positive side, both dinner and breakfast at Cecconi’s were very good, and the hotel’s location is excellent. But overall, the experience fell far short of what I would expect from a SoHo House property.
"WOW – great hotel! Worth the money."
What a great hotel! I will definitely be staying here again. NYC hotels are often tiny, but my room was a very comfortable size. From the moment I booked, the staff checked in to make sure I had everything I needed. The elevator requires a room key, which made me feel very safe throughout my stay. The decor is beautiful, with a swanky 1920s vibe and attention to detail everywhere—so much charm throughout the hotel. The bars and restaurant are excellent, and 24-hour room service is available. The team even emailed me before my arrival to see if the concierge could assist with anything. The room was spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the location is ideal—close to multiple subway lines and within walking distance of many attractions. My room was very quiet; I hardly heard any street noise. Turn-down service was offered, though I declined. The TV had plenty of channels, and two bottles of water were provided daily. The amenities were exceptional. The hotel provides full-size toiletries—two shampoos, a shampoo/conditioner combo, conditioner, three body washes, body scrub, hand soap, hand lotion, and body lotion. They also supplied an umbrella, charger, plug adapter, flat iron, blow dryer, robes, slippers, lint roller, and iron. In the bathroom, you’ll find Q-tips, cotton pads, dental kit, nail file, condoms, shower cap, razor, deodorant, tampons, comb, and earplugs. This hotel goes far beyond the usual offerings, and while there are cheaper options in NYC, this property is worth every penny.
"The Ned… disappointing and lacking atmosphere"
The location is good and the rooms are lovely, but the staff were absolutely TERRIBLE—rude, inattentive, impolite, and downright dismissive. We stayed over Christmas, and aside from a couple of decorations, there was zero atmosphere or holiday spirit. No Christmas dinner packages, no special events, just a very basic lobby and nowhere comfortable to gather. As a SoHo House member for 6+ years, I expect far more. This property felt nothing like the others in the group. The reception staff in particular were beyond bad, and the lack of care left us deeply disappointed and questioning the brand as a whole. Shame on you for letting this house bring down the entire group’s reputation.
"A beautiful hotel right in the heart of NYC"
This hotel is right in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by restaurants, shopping centers, subway stations, supermarkets, and everything else you could need. The property itself is very elegant, and the staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and eager to assist with anything.
"Fabulous Hotel in New York"
We’ve stayed at this hotel twice, and both experiences were exceptional. The location is perfect, and the rooms are generously sized for New York, stylishly designed, and well appointed. The beds are extremely comfortable, with pillow options on request, and the bathrooms are stocked with a wide selection of high-quality products.
The hotel itself is impressively cool, with striking artwork, a cozy library, the Atrium offering live music most nights, a rooftop bar, and the trendy Little Ned.
What truly distinguishes this hotel is the staff. From initial booking inquiries and activity planning—even across time zones—to our stay on site, the team was incredibly helpful, making everything seamless and memorable.
A huge thank you for a wonderful New York stay!
