"Disappointing breakfast."

This 5-star hotel is just a block from Central Park, with messengers always available to help with luggage. The building is historic on the outside but fully renovated inside, featuring a small yet cozy lobby, a library area with computers, sofas, and complimentary water—a nice spot to relax while waiting for check-in or after check-out (luggage storage is also free of charge). On the second floor, there’s a well-equipped gym with free mineral water and restrooms. However, my stay was overshadowed by the disappointing breakfast arrangement. Although I booked a package that included breakfast, it turned out to be served in a diner-style restaurant outside the hotel. Reception provided vouchers, but one receptionist claimed my booking didn’t include breakfast at all, which was frustrating. The manager confirmed that breakfast was only available with vouchers at this external location. The experience at the diner was underwhelming—limited to water, coffee, orange juice, and just one menu item per voucher. At times, staff made it feel as though they were doing me a favor by accepting the voucher. After three visits, I chose to have breakfast elsewhere at my own expense. If breakfast is not important to you, this hotel may still be a solid choice given its location and facilities. But if included breakfast matters, be aware of this arrangement before booking.

"Disappointing would not recommend"

When I arrived at the hotel at 6 a.m., the front desk staff were unpleasant and made us feel uncomfortable while we waited for our room in the back lobby. We were even told we had to move because guests would be arriving for coffee. On two separate days, there was construction right outside the room — loud banging noises before 10 a.m., cardboard and boards covering the floor at the door. When I raised my concerns with the assistant general manager and front office manager, the assistant GM went so far as to imply that no work was taking place, even though it clearly was. I’ve been staying at Hilton properties for over 20 years and have never had such a poor experience. We were not informed of construction before arrival, and despite the disruption, the hotel refused to refund two nights. Extremely disappointing.

"Business trip. Location was key"

I’ve stayed at this hotel four times, and while the location is excellent, the overall experience has gone downhill. Service used to be much better. The rooms could use better upkeep, and the elevators really need upgrading. The biggest disappointment during my last visit was breakfast. Although it was included in our rate, instead of being served at the restaurant next to the hotel, we were given vouchers for a diner three blocks away. This is not the level of service you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.

"They pressure you to buy a timeshare"

We recently stayed at The Quin New York. The hotel itself is excellent — clean, modern, and ideally located near Central Park. The staff were warm, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. However, our experience was overshadowed by the timeshare sales tactics. We received repeated calls and emails until we finally agreed to attend a “no-pressure” 60-minute presentation in exchange for $225 in Visa gift cards. The presentation went well over the promised time and felt overwhelming, with offers rapidly presented on blank sheets of paper — some costing as much as $130,000. At the end, instead of being directed to collect the promised gift cards, we were sent to another salesperson who tried to push yet another “special offer.” When we declined to make a same-day payment, his tone changed and the pressure ramped up noticeably. The Quin itself is a wonderful hotel, but I would strongly recommend avoiding the timeshare presentation. It’s a high-pressure sales pitch that uses FOMO, scarcity tactics, and confusing points systems. Just enjoy the hotel and skip the sales meeting.

"Great location, very nice room"

My wife and I chose here for the location - excellent for public transportation, which is very close, and a short walk to the park and some tourist places (such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, MOMA and shopping, and not too far from Broadway/Times Square area - but not so close that it's a noisy area). After getting there we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was: we had a king bed room, good size for NYC, larger than most with plenty of room without feeling crowded and nice amenities. Very clean and well kept, it seemed that it had been recently refurbished. Shower and bathroom was also nice. Nice large desk area in room, with plenty of usb charging and electrical outlets around. Small Nespresso machine in room was a nice touch. In addition, the front desk staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The maid service was very good. There was a restaurant attached, but we didn't have an opportunity to try it, although the menu looked good, and there was to be some discount for hotel guests. And the fitness room looked nice also. The only problem we experienced was one of the two elevators which served the hotel was out of service for a large portion of a couple of days, which did cause some delay. (They really need both to be operational for the size of the hotel.) Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel.

"The cleaning is not thorough."

There is no restaurant, the rooms are average, and the shower leaks through the door. I even found hair on the bed pillows and in the bathroom, which was very disappointing. The bed linen itself was nice, but that was about the only highlight. The location wasn’t bad, but overall the experience fell short of expectations.

"Good with some quirks"

Not a bad club/hotel overall, and the location is truly stellar. While it may not have the full service and amenities of a traditional hotel, it comes close, especially for owners. The building itself is a beautifully preserved piece of history, complete with artwork throughout, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. The experience is definitely better if you’re an owner, as you also have access to the owner’s lounge. Breakfast for owners is served from 7–10:30 am. It’s fairly limited, with one hot egg-based item, oatmeal, and the rest being pastries, fruit, yogurt, bread, coffee, and juice. It works, but could be improved—Hilton’s breakfast offerings tend to be the same across properties, and it would be nice if the Quin was a bit bolder with its menu. Cocktail hour (5–7 pm) is also available for owners, though I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. Rooms are a bit of a mixed bag. Twice, I’ve checked into a clogged sink left by the last guest, and on this visit I had to wait until nearly 3 am for it to be fixed. Some rooms also have smoke alarms installed directly above the bed, with bright green blinking lights—an odd design choice that makes it harder to get a peaceful night’s sleep. All that said, the Quin continues to improve and the staff is making clear efforts. With a few refinements, this could easily be a top-tier experience. I’d still recommend a visit, especially if you’re an owner.

"City break, convenient location"

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and easy to find. It’s conveniently located near several subway lines, and Central Park was within easy walking distance for a nice stroll. The staff were lovely, especially the front-of-house team. Our room was on a higher floor and faced inwards, so while there wasn’t a view and daylight was limited, it did help reduce noise from the busy city streets. A lobby bar would have been a nice addition, but with a couple of great bars nearby, it wasn’t much of an issue. We didn’t get a chance to try Acadia, which is located in the same building.

"Good hotel but must specify room"

Good hotel if you get the right room. My first room (104) was tiny — no external window, no desk, very cramped. I asked to be moved and, for an extra £75, got room 1213. That one was fantastic: large, airy, with an external view, a proper desk to work at, and a bathtub with over-bath shower. Very happy with that room. Service in the hotel was friendly and efficient. I also had a good meal in the attached Middle Eastern restaurant, though a bit inconvenient that I couldn’t charge it to my room. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again. Great location close to Central Park.

"Great location at a reasonable price"

This hotel offers excellent value, with quality accommodations at a very reasonable price. The location is hard to beat—just a few blocks from Central Park, close to Fifth Avenue shopping, and with easy access to the subway. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for New York, with bathrooms that provide ample storage through plenty of drawers and hangers. The gym is clean, well-equipped, and never feels overcrowded. Overall, whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this hotel is a smart, comfortable, and convenient choice in the heart of the city.
