"Ritz Carlton – Mexico City"

This was my second stay at a Ritz-Carlton, the first being in Abu Dhabi, so I had high expectations. The building itself is stunning and impeccably maintained. Upon arrival, we were escorted to the main reception on what I believe was the 26th floor. The room was spacious, clean, and well kept throughout my week-long stay. Breakfast offered a broad selection, from continental European options to local dishes, catering to a variety of tastes. In the evenings, however, the bar/lounge played loud music, which is worth considering when booking. The gym is open 24/7, though the equipment is somewhat limited, and spa facilities are available (though I did not use them). Overall, it was a nice stay, but in my opinion, it doesn’t quite match the exceptional experience of the Abu Dhabi branch.

"Marble accents do not make for a luxury hotel experience"

Overall, our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Mexico City was disappointing enough that I’m reconsidering keeping my Ritz-Carlton credit card. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and hardworking, the views of Chapultepec Park were magnificent, the fitness center is large, and the breakfasts were delicious. However, several issues stood out. The rooms are small, even for elite Gold status members, and our requested upgrade wasn’t available until 7 p.m.—though it was essentially the same size, just with a terrace and view. A club floor coupon we had could not be activated by either the call center or front desk due to lack of authority, which is not what one expects from a luxury hotel. Room service food was mediocre, and housekeeping was slow; we returned at 4:30 p.m. after leaving at 9:30 a.m., and the room was just being cleaned. Flowers provided on the first day disappeared immediately afterward. Other minor but notable issues included the gym: apples provided on day one were never replenished, and loud disco music was played despite most guests using AirPods. Bathrooms are small, with limited counter space and no hooks for personal items. In short, while the hotel has impressive marble and excellent views, it feels more like a standard Marriott with luxury branding rather than a true Ritz-Carlton experience. I cannot see myself staying here again.

"Excellent stay in Mexico City – best concierge team ever!!!!!"

My friends and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Mexico City last month, and it exceeded all our expectations. The hotel is luxurious, stylish, and the service throughout was wonderful. Breakfast was superb, but the highlight of our stay was the exceptional concierge team. They were incredibly fast, attentive, and dedicated, handling all our reservations with professionalism and care. A special thanks to Paris Mejia, Alyssa Chein, Gabriel Flores, and Francisco Jarpa for making our stay truly memorable. Their outstanding service elevated our experience and made our visit extra special.

"Fabulous Property with Exceptional Staff and Stunning Views"

This hotel is absolutely fabulous. The staff are incredible—personable, professional, and always ready to assist. The rooms and terraces are gorgeous, offering beautiful views of the park and city. We did encounter noisy neighbors on a terrace late at night, which required a room change, but the staff handled it quickly and professionally, making the inconvenience minimal. Be prepared for high food and drink prices: a martini costs $28, a hamburger and fries $38, and an American breakfast around $70. The room provides about four boxed waters and coffee pods for espresso, but turndown service is not offered. Traffic to and from the airport can take over an hour, so allow plenty of time. Despite the few inconveniences, I would definitely recommend this hotel for its exceptional service and stunning setting.

"Wonderful Divine Sensational"

My score is 1000 All impeccable services, decoration all great. Special attention to the staff Francisco who guided us picked up the bags and gave all the explanations about the hotel entry and exit.

"Luxurious, but nothing special"

I stayed at this hotel using points—otherwise, I would not have paid around $1,400 USD per night for the experience. On the positive side, the reception staff were very friendly and provided us with a room that had a stunning view, likely an upgrade due to Platinum Elite status. The view from the room was sensational, with floor-to-ceiling windows, even the bathroom offered a fantastic panorama if you used the bathtub. The staff throughout were attentive and friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. On the downside, the hotel lacks a traditional lobby where guests can sit, relax, have a drink, or meet others; the entrance feels more like an office building, giving the property a serviced-apartment vibe. Accessing rooms requires switching elevators: first to the reception floor, then to your room level. The room itself felt a bit “naked” and modern—almost like a newly built apartment not fully furnished. Breakfast items need to be ordered individually, as there is no buffet. Additionally, the location isn’t ideal for those wanting to stay directly in Polanco; while it’s walkable or a short Uber ride away, it would be more convenient to be in the heart of that neighborhood. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its incredible views, making it a good choice for one or a few nights.

"Gorgeous Views"

We were upgraded to a very spacious suite with an incredible panoramic view of Mexico City, and overall, we had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly, polite, and most spoke English very well—which is always a plus, even though I try to speak the local language when traveling. Our rooms were kept very clean, and we were generously supplied with bottled water. The valet team was helpful, kind, and reliable, and I always felt extremely safe in this location. A special highlight was the handmade tamarind balls in the lobby—absolutely delicious and not to be missed. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is the food in the hotel’s beautiful restaurant, which I found mediocre. Though we were offered free breakfasts, we chose to eat elsewhere for tastier options. Meals were often served lukewarm, and the menu didn’t feel very compelling. Additionally, the exterior windows hadn’t been recently washed, which was a minor disappointment, though I understand that cleaning them must be quite a challenge. Overall, the exceptional service, spacious rooms, and breathtaking views make this hotel a wonderful choice.

"It’s a regular hotel with nothing special to say about it at a very high rate."

This hotel feels bold in design but lacks the special touches one expects from a Ritz-Carlton. The rooms are very small, and the service is impersonal, falling short of the high standards seen at other Ritz properties. Upon arrival, we noticed a bodyguard sitting outside the neighboring room in a chair the entire time, which felt unusual and a bit unsettling. Overall, the atmosphere was tense and unwelcoming, making for a disappointing stay.
