I recently visited The Spice Box in Edgware again. It was an exceptional experience! The cosy ambience and friendly staff made for a delightful dining experience. The food was outstanding, with flavours that truly transported me to different parts of the world. The standout dish for me was the aromatic curry, which was perfectly balanced and bursting with flavour. The service was attentive and welcoming, ensuring that our meal was enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of authentic, flavorful cuisine in a warm and inviting setting.
"Average Biryani with Great Masala, But Lacking Overall Flavor"
We tried the chicken biryani, and while the masala (gravy) was truly delicious and flavorful — definitely the highlight — the rest of the dish was underwhelming. The basmati rice and boneless chicken lacked seasoning and depth, resulting in a rather average biryani overall. Also worth noting is that a service charge of £2.38 was added to the bill. While the masala saved the dish somewhat, there’s room for improvement in bringing more flavour to the main components.

"Tasty Food but Inconsistent Portions and Quality"
The food at this place has great flavour and the taste overall was enjoyable. The starters, in particular, were really well done and stood out. However, the crispy bhajia seemed overcooked—possibly refried—making them dark and quite oily. Portion sizes were a bit underwhelming for the price: the curry and dal were on the smaller side, and the £6 portion of bhel was surprisingly tiny. While the taste is solid, a few tweaks in consistency and value for money would really elevate the experience.

Had an amazing experience at The Spice Box! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The service was outstanding – we felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout our visit. It’s clear the team puts a lot of heart into what they do. We’ll definitely be going back soon!

Unfortunately, our visit was far from enjoyable. The service left much to be desired, with staff displaying a blunt attitude that made us uncomfortable even asking simple questions. The food was equally disappointing and did not meet expectations. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience, and I will not be returning to this restaurant.
