"This place is beyond good"

Siem Reap has no shortage of great restaurants, and this little treasure absolutely deserves to be among the first mentioned. Located just outside the busy part of town in a beautiful teak building, the setting is perfect—elegant tables, charming décor, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff were attentive throughout, and the young lady who served us was especially kind and thoughtful. The menu strikes a wonderful balance between Khmer specialties and other options, all showcasing fresh local ingredients. We started with prawn fritters accompanied by a dipping sauce that was nothing short of divine. The grilled eggplant with pork mince and vegetable sauce was one of the best dishes I’ve eaten in three weeks of traveling through Vietnam and Cambodia. I had been craving a Khmer curry, and the chicken curry with coconut cream and vegetables did not disappoint—it was rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented in a clay pot. Every dish came with rice, and paired with cold beers and excellent wine, it made for an unforgettable evening. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and experience offered.

"Avoid"

This was by far the worst dinner experience. It took nearly 50 minutes just to bring out a salad, despite the restaurant not being busy, and another 20 minutes for a simple omelette. The service was appalling—slow and inattentive when it came to food, yet quick to push drinks and wine. A very frustrating and disappointing experience overall.

"Council"

Located a bit away from the busy Pub Street and casino area, this place feels quiet and welcoming. The food is good and reasonably priced compared to the rest of the city. I especially recommend trying the salads and soups, which were fresh and flavorful. A nice option if you’re looking for a more relaxed dining experience in Siem Reap.

"A very worthwhile dinner"

I highly recommend Sugar Palm in Siem Reap for a truly memorable dining experience that blends wonderful ambience with delicious food. Our waitress was outstanding—knowledgeable, fluent in English, and attentive throughout. The pomelo salad, fish amok, and beef loc lac were all bursting with authentic Khmer flavors, beautifully prepared and presented. A must-visit spot in Siem Reap for anyone seeking genuine Cambodian cuisine paired with excellent service.

"Excellent."

I visited this restaurant with a friend while in Siem Reap, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The food was very well presented and delicious, and the cocktails were equally impressive. A lovely spot with a great atmosphere—I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

"Nice but predictable tourist restaurant"

The restaurant has a great setting and beautiful decor, which makes for an enjoyable dining atmosphere. The food was decent, though nothing particularly outstanding. Prices are above average for Siem Reap, which isn’t surprising given Gordon Ramsay’s connection. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner, though it seems tailored more for Western tourists.

"Spare ribs dry and they don’t care"

After all the hype, I was expecting a great meal, especially since I waited 30 minutes for the spare ribs to be prepared. While they were tender, they turned out terribly dry, and I had to borrow some sauce from a colleague just to make them palatable. I shared my feedback with what seemed to be the manager, a Westerner, but he seemed uninterested and didn’t even offer an apology. Although other diners appeared satisfied with their meals, I would strongly advise against ordering the spare ribs. Based on my experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this restaurant.

"Good Khmer cooking"

We enjoyed our meal here—ordered the eggplant with pork mince, which was very tasty, and the Khmer curry, which was also delicious. The fried rice with beef was not the best, but overall the flavors were enjoyable. My husband and I had a gelato each to finish the meal. The decor is lovely, the service very friendly, and the value is excellent—$60 for two with a bottle of wine.

"Good restaurant"

Overall, the stay offered good value for money. The room was large and comfortable, though the decoration felt a bit cold for my taste. The ceiling fans were refreshing and much appreciated. Unlike other guests, however, I didn’t enjoy the Amok dish, which was a bit of a letdown. Not the best experience, but still fair for the price.

"Delicious food"

We loved the food here—delicious and beautifully presented. The setting is lovely, featuring a serene koi pond that adds to the experience. The cocktails were great as well. The only minor downside was that the serving sizes were slightly smaller than expected, but overall it was a fantastic dining experience.
