"Nice stay"

The hotel itself is very nice, though the surrounding Brooklyn area feels less appealing—but that’s New York. The woman who cleaned my room did an outstanding job, and I left her a tip on two separate occasions. When I asked her about it, she said she never received them. On my last day, I saw another woman, possibly a supervisor, leaving my tip money from my room. I reported the incident to the front desk, hoping it was addressed appropriately. The housekeeping staff work hard and deserve proper recognition and respect for their efforts.

"Outstanding view, disappointing everything else. Overpriced."

The William Vale is a decent hotel, but it falls short of the “world-class luxury” it advertises and prices itself as. While some aspects, like the stunning city views from our Gotham Corner Suite with wraparound balcony, met expectations, many elements of the stay were disappointing. Service staff were friendly but ill-equipped, with concierge support minimal to non-existent and luxury transportation handled poorly. Dining at Leuca was unremarkable, and access to the Westlight rooftop bar and pool was restrictive for younger guests, reducing the overall experience. Room amenities were inconsistent: premium Wi-Fi was unreliable, the minibar and “lovers kit” felt unnecessary and out of place, and the layout made using the suite’s space cumbersome once additional bedding was added. Most concerning were basic cleanliness and maintenance issues—dirty windows and balcony furniture, stains on walls, a poorly installed coffee table, and a shower that flooded the room on first use. Overall, The William Vale delivers some impressive moments, particularly the views, but the combination of mediocre service, underwhelming amenities, and cleanliness issues make it difficult to justify the high price point. Unless the hotel undergoes a significant management and policy overhaul, I would not return. Buyer beware.

"Almost 1st Class"

The hotel benefits from an excellent location and very friendly staff, making for a pleasant stay. However, a few practical issues prevented a perfect experience. The computer system didn’t sync between room service and the restaurant, forcing us to pay in cash for room service and by card for breakfast. The elevator was unreliable, which was unsettling, and our room was small with several minor issues. Considering these factors, the cost of the room felt high relative to the value received, and we would likely consider a different hotel on our next visit.

"Fine but not luxury (despite the cost)"

We stayed on a Monday night in July in a deluxe corner suite with a wrap-around balcony for a celebratory staycation. While there were some highlights, the experience didn’t feel worth the high price. On the positive side, the room was clean and well-appointed, the balcony offered stunning views of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings, Le Labo toiletries were a nice touch, and the bathtub was spectacular—the true highlight of our stay. However, several aspects could be improved. The couch was hollow and uncomfortable, and the “suite” layout was essentially one large room with the bathroom in the center, offering little privacy. The bed was comfortable, but the bedding felt cheap and did not allow for proper temperature regulation. When it rained, we requested dry balcony cushions and were told this wasn’t possible. Check-in was overly complicated, requiring visits to multiple floors to make reservations, and as a result, we didn’t manage to secure pool or rooftop bar access. The most frustrating issue was the constant music playing in the atrium directly below our room, which prevented a proper night’s sleep—something entirely caused by the hotel. Overall, the stay was fine, but for the price, it fell short of true luxury. I likely wouldn’t return or recommend it to others.

"Excellent minus room service"

The hotel offers sleek and spotless rooms with professional, if somewhat reserved, service. Our room featured a balcony with two chairs and a table, and came fully equipped with coffee, a mini bar, snacks for purchase, a closet, and excellent linens—amenities that are increasingly rare. Room service, however, was a weak point. Access was only via a QR code, with very limited dinner options and no visible breakfast or beverage menu, making it inconvenient compared to traditional room service. We ended up ordering Uber Eats instead. Lunch at Leuca on Friday was a highlight, with outdoor seating and a very friendly, accommodating server. Overall, the rooms and hotel experience were excellent, though room service could be improved.

"William Vale – events at Westlight and Leuca"

I am so grateful to have hosted my wife’s surprise birthday party at The William Vale—there’s truly no better venue or staff to work with. In particular, Victoria was instrumental in making the event a success. She and her team began planning with me three months in advance, hosted multiple site tours, and created a detailed, minute-by-minute plan for the evening. The facilities themselves are spectacular. We enjoyed amazing cityscape views, and the Westlight enclosure was cozy yet spacious enough to comfortably host our party. The staff during the event were attentive and ensured all guests were well taken care of, quickly resolving a couple of minor issues that arose. Leuca, post-relaunch, was better than ever. Our private dining room was thoughtfully prepared, and Nicole and her team kept the food, music, and drinks flowing seamlessly. Overall, working with The William Vale—and especially Victoria—was an outstanding experience. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

"Noise at Night"

We stayed in Brooklyn for the Brooklyn Half Marathon and enjoyed a fantastic room with a wrap-around balcony. Unfortunately, both Saturday and Sunday nights were disrupted by thumping music that continued until 11 PM, which was a downside to an otherwise enjoyable stay.

"Great girls weekend!"

I stayed at The William Vale for a girls’ weekend and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic—just a 5–10 minute walk to the subway and close to Williamsburg, with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the concierge provided helpful restaurant recommendations. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed drinks at Westlight, with its amazing views of NYC, and had a delicious dinner at Leuca one evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

"A Plum Of A Hotel."

The stylish William Vale, located in the heart of Williamsburg—one of Brooklyn’s hippest neighborhoods—offers a modern, high-energy experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my corner suite, which featured floor-to-ceiling windows, abundant natural light, and a futuristic interior with geometric patterns, bloodwood accents, curated art, and a suite of high-tech appliances. The standout feature was the balcony, offering brilliant cityscape views. Dining at the hotel is equally impressive. Leuca, the main restaurant, serves Southern Italian-inspired cuisine, including homemade pasta and wood-fired pizza. I opted for a trio of grilled octopus, tonnarelli, and Prosecco, and every bite was extraordinarily flavorful. The Westlight rooftop bar on the 22nd floor provides sweeping views, a rustic cocktail program, craft beer, wine, and small plates, while the adjacent Turf Club extends the outdoor experience seasonally. The hotel also boasts a 5,000 sq. ft. outdoor pool deck—one of the best in the area—with panoramic views, barrel saunas, and deep cedar hot tubs, and in cooler months, guests can enjoy a winter ice rink and spa experience. For those who appreciate a hip, vibrant neighborhood where the hotel itself reflects the local trendiness, The William Vale is a true gem.

"Perfect NYC spot"

Fantastic hotel in a prime Brooklyn location—just a short and easy ride into Manhattan. The hotel restaurant was delicious, and the rooftop bar offered stunning views, making it ideal for a fun girls’ night out. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to NYC.
