"Great service! Decent room. Shower can be improved."

Our stay was good overall. Breakfast was decent, and the service was amazing. The room was pretty average, but the location is fantastic. For Aguas Calientes, this is pretty standard. I would recommend Tierra Viva for great value. Cleanliness was excellent as well. The sound of the lake can be quite loud and takes some getting used to.

"It was not bad, but I would not repeat."

This hotel offers an excellent bed with soft sheets and comfortable pillows. The food is great. However, our room facing the river had a noticeable musty mold smell. Towels provided were small and insufficient in number. I also felt a bit insecure in the hallways, which are open with a low parapet exposing the first floor—this felt quite unsafe given the height.

"Beautiful!"

The hotel is very comfortable, well located, and offers excellent service. The service they provide by taking your bags to the train station is delightful!

"hotel"

The hotel was conveniently located near the flea market and many restaurants, making it really easy to explore everything. The breakfast was also really good.

"Excellent service"

Excellent service with very friendly staff. Special thanks to William and Madilide for their outstanding attention. Regarding the facilities, the rooms felt a bit damp and had a storage-like smell; however, they were clean and adequately equipped. The finishing on the entrance doors to the rooms could use improvement.

"Good overnight stay."

Perfect for our needs before visiting Machu Picchu — comfortable bed, hot shower, and breakfast. The hotel staff kindly met us at the train station to take our luggage to the hotel before check-in, allowing us to quickly sprint through the market to secure our place in line for Machu Picchu tickets. Since your position in line can impact getting preferred times and circuits, saving time was essential. We checked in after securing our position numbers, as we still had a few hours before purchasing the tickets. The check-in process was smooth. We were welcomed with delicious cookies and given the breakfast order menu for the next morning. The staff also informed us that we could use the shower facilities after checkout if needed. Overall, a very good place to stay.

"NORMAL"

The facilities and service are quite good. The staff provide excellent treatment. The room is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. However, the breakfast was disappointing, with limited variety and low-quality products.

"Just okay"

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night before heading to Machu Picchu. We appreciated how kind the woman at check-in was. However, our room was infested with tiny bugs and lacked any ambiance. We were looking forward to breakfast but found it nearly inedible. On top of that, the Wi-Fi was down during our stay. The location is excellent, but we would not choose this hotel again.

"Great hotel worth the money"

The hotel staff were very nice and helpful throughout our stay. The location is perfect, and the view from my room was simply fantastic. They even assisted me by carrying my suitcase to the train station, which I really appreciated. While it may be one of the more expensive hotels in Aguas Calientes, I believe it is worth the price. Attached are some pictures showing the view from my room.

"Overnight in Machu Picchu"

We were slightly disappointed with our stay. On the positive side, we appreciated being met at the train station and having our luggage taken to and from the hotel, which saved us from carrying everything around Machu Picchu. We also enjoyed our meal at the restaurant. However, at check-in we were advised not to open the windows due to insects and to use plenty of insect repellent in town and at Machu Picchu. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room didn’t work — judging by the missing panel on the electrical unit, it seemed like a known issue. They promptly offered to move us to an equivalent room, but it wasn’t quite equivalent. Our first room had a lovely king-size bed with a comfortable mattress, while the new room had a king-size bed head but only a double bed with a less comfortable mattress. Although they offered to move us again, after an early start, a long walk around Machu Picchu, and already dealing with the room change, we decided to stay put.

Tierra Viva Machu Picchu Hotel

Comfortable, contemporary rooms a short walk from both train and bus stations, with a panoramic sun deck and complimentary breakfast—perfectly positioned for early mornings.
