"Disappointing"
This restaurant is recommended by the Michelin Guide (Bib Gourmand), but in our experience, there are many places in Rome where you can eat just as well—or even better—for less. The dishes were good but not exceptional, with rather ungenerous portions. Most disappointing was the service: waiting 45 minutes for a pasta dish felt excessive and took away from the enjoyment of the meal. A real pity given the expectations.
"Meritevole"
Among the many modern trattorias in the neighborhood, this one truly stands out for its excellent food, friendly and courteous staff, and great value for money. A thoroughly enjoyable experience—we’ll definitely be back.

An excellent tavern offering creatively revisited dishes, with very good food and exceptionally kind, attentive service. The desserts are delicious as well and a perfect way to end the meal. We’ll definitely be back!
"Sunday lunch"
Very nice restaurant in the Pyramid area, offering appetizers and traditional first and second courses with a subtle modern twist. The atmosphere is informal yet pleasant, with attentive and well-presented service. The average price, from appetizers to digestifs, is around €60 per person. Portions are reasonable—certainly not as small as some other reviews suggest—and the wine list is impressively extensive. Definitely recommended!

"Good food and fair prices, but portions improveable"
Overall, the experience was very positive. The food was delicious, well prepared, and made with high-quality ingredients, offering good value for money. The only reason for giving four stars instead of five is the portion size, which could have been slightly more generous. That said, the service was courteous and the atmosphere welcoming. I would definitely recommend it and would happily return in the future.

This is exactly how I imagine a modern trattoria—very much like Trattoria Pennestri. A simple yet welcoming space, offering traditional cuisine with a contemporary touch and high-quality ingredients. The tiella and duck were excellent, and overall every dish impressed us. Highly recommended.
"Definitely worth a visit"
It had been a long time since my last visit to this modern trattoria, and I’m happy to say that the high quality of the ingredients, the careful presentation of the dishes, the tasteful furnishings with a lovely outdoor terrace, and the kindness of the waiting staff are all just as excellent as I remembered. It’s a place where you truly feel good—eating and drinking well in a comfortable, well-managed setting. The menu isn’t extensive, but it’s well thought out, with a few interesting options from outside the region, including Tuscany. My meal started with a flavorful mushroom and herb cake, followed by a perfectly cooked duck breast with caramelized onions and apples, paired with a Lazio red wine, and finished with a good crème brûlée. The digestif was offered, and the value for money is fair. I recommend booking in advance on weekends for a relaxed evening with friends or family.
"Great food and service"
The tonnarelli cacio e pepe is outstanding—rich, creamy, and just as good as you’d expect from a top spot. Service is fast and attentive, making the experience even better. The prices are very reasonable for the quality offered. The only downside is a noticeable sewer smell when sitting outside, which slightly detracts from an otherwise excellent meal.
