"Be careful if canceling"

Be careful if you need to cancel a reservation at this hotel. I had booked in January but later decided not to stay there. I am fairly certain I cancelled the reservation online, but something must have gone wrong because the hotel now claims it was never cancelled. What makes this especially frustrating is that I never received a reservation reminder, check-in information, or any attempt to contact me when I supposedly “failed” to check in. Despite this, I was charged 50% of the entire stay, which is a significant amount. My attempts to contact the hotel to resolve the issue have led nowhere, which has been very disappointing.

"Beautiful hotel and great location!"

This beautiful boutique hotel exceeded expectations with its excellent customer service and prime location in the Barranco district—just steps from the coast and within walking distance of many great sights. The property is stylishly furnished with a charming mix of traditional and funky décor, making it feel truly unique. Breakfast on the rooftop was delightful, and the rooftop bar is a perfect spot to relax and unwind. While there wasn’t a coffee maker in the room, I didn’t mind at all as fresh coffee was available 24/7 in the dining room, along with a convenient water refill station. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return!

"Really good hotel"

This is a really good boutique hotel with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, breakfast was delicious, and the rooftop bar with heaters was a great spot to stay warm and unwind. The room was a good size, and the cozy ambiance with books, coffee, and seating areas made it easy to relax. The location is a bit lower than ideal, and with the traffic and one-way systems, it added some extra time to all our journeys. However, the surrounding area offers scenic walks along the cliffs, as well as great local restaurants, shops, and museums. While there’s no evening food service at the hotel, the local dining options more than made up for it.

"Nice time, unfortunately too short"

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and felt very well cared for, which was especially appreciated after a long flight. Our ground-floor room wasn’t particularly large, but it was perfectly adequate and allowed us to leave the doors open to the garden thanks to the house’s secure setting. Our unusual request for two duvets was immediately accommodated, and the room—as well as the entire hotel—was spotlessly clean. The hotel’s location in the Barranco district was ideal, with restaurants and the Larcomar shopping center easily reached on foot via the scenic promenade. The property also offers bicycles for guests, though the reserved bikes we received unfortunately had nearly flat tires, so we opted to walk instead. Breakfast on the terrace was a true delight, though guests should keep an eye out—local birds are just as fond of the delicious offerings as we were! Many thanks for a wonderful stay; we would happily return.

"Beautiful outside but inconvenient inside + Great service"

This hotel offers a unique and exclusive atmosphere, featuring a private garden for breakfast and beautifully authentic decorations. We especially enjoyed the complimentary bikes, which were comfortable to ride, and the unlimited filtered water, coffee, and tea available at all times. Breakfast was simple yet tasty, with fresh fruits, daily cake, and custom-made egg dishes. The service provided by Monica, Frank, and Julio was outstanding and made our stay feel special. On the downside, the hotel was quite difficult to find as it’s tucked away in a residential neighborhood with no visible signage. Our room was small with no storage, had only two stools for nightstands, a single tiny trash can with a stiff lid, very few electrical outlets, and no desk. While the bathroom was spacious, the towel hooks were rusty, the shower drain was clogged, and there were no facial tissues provided.

"Very nice for a Boutique Hotel"

Security at this hotel is tight—you need to ring the bell on the street to be let in, which we appreciated. The property is located in a Bohemian, up-and-coming area of Barranco, which I enjoyed, though my husband isn’t as fond of boutique-style hotels. We stayed in a Garden Room with French doors opening out to the garden. While we didn’t feel comfortable leaving them open overnight (and there was no other window for fresh air), the room itself was charming. The shower room and toilet were massive, with plenty of unused space, but the unique layout added to the character. Breakfast was fabulous, highlighted by a delicious, massive blueberry cake placed in the center of the table. Overall, we really enjoyed this hotel and the opportunity to experience a different side of Barranco in Lima.

"Great service, but inconvenient, JW is much better"

We stayed for two nights and were very impressed by the service—everyone went above and beyond to help and delight customers. Breakfast was very good as well, although some items were not replenished during the last half hour. The bathroom was pleasant, but hot water took quite a while to arrive. Unfortunately, the room itself was a major disappointment. While it appeared reasonably sized, it lacked any shelves, drawers, or proper storage, forcing us to live out of our suitcases. The only option was an exposed hanging rack made of flimsy-looking pipes that didn’t feel sturdy. The nightstands were simply two cheap plastic stools, outlets were inconveniently placed, and noise from neighboring rooms was quite loud. To make matters worse, after leaving a piece of chocolate out for a few hours, we returned to find hundreds of ants covering it, which raised serious hygiene concerns. The hotel only provided one key, making it difficult to coordinate when leaving and returning separately. While bikes were available, they were poorly maintained—low to the ground, with loose seats, faulty kickstands, and generally uncomfortable to ride. After two nights, we decided to move to the JW, which offered a similar price but a vastly superior experience: spacious rooms, plenty of storage, comfortable seating, convenient outlets, an outstanding bathroom, and beautiful views. The difference in comfort and convenience was night and day.

"Terrible Service and Dirty Room"

I rarely write reviews, but my experience here was so abysmal I feel compelled to share. If you’re looking for an excellent boutique hotel in Lima, skip this place and head one block away to Hotel B. I stayed at Hotel B the night before, and it was better maintained, more charismatic, and genuinely friendly—a stark contrast to this nightmare. I was traveling on business and desperately needed to iron my shirts after a long flight. Upon checking in, I requested an iron from the front desk. After 30 minutes of waiting, there was no knock, no call, nothing. When I followed up, I learned that the hotel had only one iron for all guests—and it was being used by someone else. What shocked me even more was the staff’s complete lack of courtesy or solutions. They didn’t bother to notify me, refused to borrow one from Hotel B across the street, and wouldn’t refund my room so I could switch hotels. Instead, they brushed me off with “your room is nonrefundable on Expedia,” as if that excused their failure to provide basic amenities. I even asked if they could have staff bring an iron the next morning. They agreed—and of course, nothing happened. The morning team had no idea what had transpired the night before. To make matters worse, the cleanliness was atrocious: dirty and dusty floors, a worn-out shower, and a bathroom sink that didn’t drain properly. This hotel’s attitude, lack of basic amenities, and poor hygiene are unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere—anywhere else.

"Villa Barranco"

The rooms are decorated in a lovely wooden style, with comfortable beds and a cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent and lovingly prepared, and the service was warm and welcoming. The location is beautiful and peaceful, making it easy to walk in all directions to explore the area. There are just two small points for improvement: The main door locks automatically when you leave, so you have to ring the bell to get back in. While someone is always there to open the door, having a key would be more convenient. The first time the shower was turned on, the water came out light brown for a couple of seconds before running clear. Despite these minor issues, I would still highly recommend this charming property.

"Aristocratic elegance"

This small, stylish hotel is beautifully run and has the warm feel of a family home. Service was excellent throughout our stay. It’s a shame the property serves breakfast only, as the elegant dining room would be ideal for a stylish supper. We especially enjoyed having drinks on the roof terrace in the late afternoon after a refreshing walk along the nearby sea wall. The area felt very safe, though the receptionist recommended taking a taxi after dark and kindly arranged both the restaurant booking and the return taxi for us. Breakfast was very good, featuring plenty of fresh fruit, homemade cake, and decent coffee. Overall, a lovely stay at a hotel with real charm.

"Cute Boutique Hotel"

This cute boutique hotel is set in a beautiful location in Barranco and is filled with fun, unique details that give the property plenty of character. The staff were helpful, breakfast was served in a lovely dining area, and our room was impressively large and spacious. That said, the stay didn’t quite live up to the glowing reviews. The hotel is in need of a deep cleaning—our room, especially the floors and rugs, felt overdue for proper upkeep. The room also developed a musty smell once the scent of daily housekeeping products wore off. Additionally, there was no iron in the room, and with only one iron available for the entire hotel, you’re out of luck if another guest is using it. While it’s certainly a charming hotel in a fantastic part of town, it doesn’t quite merit 5-star ratings without addressing these issues.

"Room for improvement"

The hotel is in a great location in the Barranco area and has a lovely atmosphere—it truly feels like staying in someone’s home rather than a chain hotel. Our room was a bit stuffy upon arrival, but after leaving the windows open for a few hours, it was much better. Breakfast was good, though we were a little put off when we noticed small birds landing on the food table, even though it was indoors. Despite this, the overall experience was pleasant, and the setting was charming.
