"Busy but Well-Organized Station"

I visited during Khmer New Year, so the station was extremely busy with many travelers heading in different directions. Booking a ticket is quite convenient—you can purchase online, through the ABA bank app, or even at various courier service offices around the city that also sell tickets. The station itself is well-equipped, offering clean restrooms, a mart, and both air-conditioned and open waiting areas for passengers. The staff are helpful and can communicate in multiple languages, including English, Khmer, and Vietnamese, which makes the process smoother for international travelers. My tip: arrive at the station early to avoid any last-minute hustle. 🙂🥰

"Disappointing Experience with VET Service to Bavet"

I’ve taken the bus to Bavet several times, and while the vans are fairly new and comfortable, the drivers are a major issue. They drive recklessly, show little respect to others on the road, and are not friendly toward passengers. On one trip, the driver repeatedly spit out of the window, with the spit hitting my window—a very unpleasant experience. The overall quality of taxi and transport services in Cambodia can be inconsistent, but from a large company like VET, I expected much better. Unfortunately, they fall short, and it makes me wish there were more reliable transport options for smaller towns.

"Bus Travel Review: Air BUS 41 vs. Luxury Coaster"

When traveling by bus, I strongly recommend choosing Air BUS 41 Seats over the Luxury Coaster (16-seater). The main difference lies in value for money. Both options cost $28, but Air BUS 41 includes free meals and drinks, which makes a big difference on long journeys. The Luxury Coaster, on the other hand, only offers water and lacks basic entertainment such as TV screens. Another downside with the Luxury Coaster was the staff’s dishonesty about amenities—what was promised didn’t match the actual service, which left me disappointed. For both buses, the journey usually includes one lunch stop at Bavet (for those heading to Vietnam) and two bathroom breaks. While this makes the trip manageable, I found the limited number of stops somewhat inconvenient. One highlight is the border crossing process, which is made easier by staff managing the passports on your behalf—you only need to handle your belongings during the scan. Booking tickets is simple, either online via the Virak Buntham Express app or directly at the office. Departures are usually punctual, and even if your ticket says 7:00 AM, staff will remind you as early as 6:00 AM. Just keep in mind that arrival times can vary, and delays are possible. Overall, Air BUS 41 Seats is the better choice, offering more comfort, better value, and a smoother travel experience compared to the Luxury Coaster.

"Horrible Bus Experience – Avoid at All Costs!"

My journey from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City was chaotic from start to finish. The bus was scheduled to leave at 6:00 AM but departed late, setting the tone for the trip. The staff were unfriendly, rude, and nosy, while the drivers were unprofessional—even bad-mouthing while driving. The bus itself was in poor condition. Seats and entertainment screens were broken, including mine, and many others didn’t work properly. On top of that, no snacks were provided as promised. When I asked for a noodle cup and hot tea, I was told there wasn’t enough for passengers, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, this was a terrible service with zero comfort and zero professionalism. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Avoid it at all costs!

"Uncomfortable and Disorganized Experience"

The waiting area was messy and poorly managed, with no proper seating arrangement for passengers. On the bus, the double-seat side was extremely hot—I was sweating the whole time. Despite advertising onboard entertainment, the TV didn’t work, so there were no movies or music available. If you take this bus, make sure to bring your own phone or iPad for entertainment.

"Worst Night Bus Experience – Avoid at All Costs"

Do not use their service if you’re looking for a proper sleeping bus. I traveled from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and it was one of the worst experiences ever. The bus was dirty, extremely uncomfortable, and even at 172cm tall, I couldn’t stretch my legs to sleep. It left 1.5 hours late, and whether you pay for a “Hotel Bus” or “Luxury Hotel Bus,” it’s the exact same bus—just $3 more for nothing. The staff were unprofessional, and the bus kept stopping every 20 minutes to pick up extra passengers for money. Some people even boarded without tickets just because they knew the driver, which made the trip feel unsafe. Absolutely not recommended.

"Chaotic Departure but Decent Journey"

We had a bus scheduled at 12 noon from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, but it departed 30 minutes late. Surprisingly, we still managed to arrive about 15 minutes early. The driver was nice and made several stops for food and bathroom breaks, which was appreciated. The main downside was the chaotic Phnom Penh station—there was no seating area, cars constantly coming and going, very little assistance, and almost no check-in process. To make things more confusing, we even saw a 1:30 pm bus leave before ours. Overall, the ride itself was fine, but the departure experience could definitely be improved.
