"Unfriendly “telling off” in the restaurant at this adult only hotel"

We stayed here last year and loved it, but this year’s experience has been mixed. Our room was not as nice for the same price, and dinner at the buffet restaurant was quite strange. At this adults-only hotel, there are two sittings: 6:30–7:30 and 8:00–9:00. We arrived around 7:10 and were rudely told we “were late.” Although we apologized and promised to finish by 7:30, we were denied a table outside, despite several free tables and only one other elderly couple inside. No one used the outside tables, making the restriction feel unnecessary and punitive. When I questioned Luc at reception, he said upstairs handled rooms and had nothing to do with the tables, leaving us frustrated. Additionally, there seem to be families with older children here, which feels contrary to the adults-only concept. We hope tomorrow’s dinner experience will be better, as we truly loved this hotel last year.

"Excellent Hotel with Outstanding Staff"

This hotel is fantastic! Its location is perfect, right in front of a quiet beach ideal for swimming, and sheltered from the wind. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner buffets are very good. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff – friendly, attentive, and professional. Special thanks to Begoña from Vigo, Rosa from Mondariz Juan, our waiter from El Rosal, and the wonderful cook from Mougas. You are a truly great team!

"Strange rules in hotel"

We had a wonderful holiday in Fuerteventura, enjoying every aspect of our stay. The reception staff were extremely helpful and attentive throughout our visit. Although our room did not have tea-making facilities, we were provided with a kettle, cups, tea bags, and fresh milk every day. We also appreciated being allowed to keep our room until 4 pm on our departure day due to a late flight, with no extra charge. We were the only English guests at the hotel, which was not a problem but worth noting. On arrival, we were informed that there were two dinner sittings, at 6 pm and 8 pm. Unfortunately, the 8 pm sitting was fully booked. We ate around 6.30 pm, but by 7.30 pm the dining room was empty, and staff were clearly preparing for the next sitting, making us feel slightly rushed. Breakfast started at 8 am with no issue, though we could not sit on the outside terrace, which was reserved for premium rooms. Overall, everything about our stay was delightful, and the staff went out of their way to make it special. We only wish our tour operator, TUI, had provided more information about dining arrangements and terrace access, which we have since raised with them.

"Very good except qqs details"

This was our second stay at this hotel, and it’s almost perfect. The location is incredible, the breakfast and dinner are excellent, and the staff’s hospitality is outstanding. Do not come here expecting wild nightlife – it’s extremely quiet, with very little animation, which may disappoint some. The price is justified: this is a small hotel with only 54 rooms, not a massive resort. The ocean view is breathtaking, and the beach is just a three-minute walk away. A small tip if you rent a car: parking is very limited, so coordinate with reception in advance. Aside from that, everything was superb, and we can’t wait to return!

"Charmant!"

A small, man-sized hotel right on the beach, mostly popular with retired German guests. The care and service are good, and the kitchen is “okay” – not gourmet, but at least it’s not industrial. A minor drawback is the deckchair hunt on the terrace, with no staff clearing unused towels. Overall, a good stay, and I would recommend it. Note that the price felt a bit high – around €500 per night for a superior double room on the seafront in early March, including breakfast.

"Good hotel in a nice location with some drawbacks in the food"

This not-inexpensive hotel with 54 rooms is situated directly on a stunning sandy beach, and all rooms offer sea views. We booked a premium room, which is accessed via an outside corridor; however, the tiled floor can be very slippery when it rains. Inside, the laminate flooring feels out of place and does not match the otherwise high standard of the hotel or its price level. Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style, with two types of meat and fish prepared a la minute on a hot plate. In our experience, the cooking often resulted in overcooked dishes—swordfish or tuna ended up dry, while vegetables became mushy. Overall, while the location is superb, we had expected a higher standard of rooms and dining considering the price and previous reviews.

"Pure relaxation in Fuertevendura. No noise no kids bar restaurant enough available. Hot tub/pool always found a place"

The staff were exceptional, and our suite was top-notch. Special mention to bar team member Hassan – a truly great person! For a 4-star hotel with only 52–54 rooms, the service felt very personal. The in-room coffee machine was restocked daily, which was a nice touch. The only downside was that the evening menu tended to be repetitive.

"Mixed bag"

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which has many highlights. The rooms were comfortable, very clean, and well-maintained, and the dinner was excellent, though on the expensive side. The housekeeping service was also exceptional. However, the hotel is clearly severely understaffed. Waiters were rushing around during dinner, check-in and check-out took much longer than expected, and dinner requires booking a specific time slot. The check-out time of 11:00 is also inflexible. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, but the combination of high prices and limited staff does detract from the experience.

"XL disappointment"

I booked this hotel after checking TripAdvisor, drawn by a few positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was frustrating from the start. The hotel is squeezed between narrow streets and parking lots, making it difficult to find and park. Upon arrival, we waited 30 minutes at reception, which was handled by a single overworked attendant who spoke only German and Spanish. No help with luggage was offered. Our room was small, hot, and cheaply decorated. The balcony offered zero shade, making it unbearable in the sun. Noise from children and the air conditioning made sleeping difficult. The surroundings are uninspiring, and daytime temperatures make exploring uncomfortable. The public beach below is nice, but not enough to justify a return visit. Overall, the stay felt cramped, poorly managed, and disappointing, especially considering the price.

"Unbeatable in all areas"

Our experience at this hotel was simply extraordinary. The views are breathtaking, the rooms luxurious, and the staff absolutely admirable. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, and everyone is attentive, making you feel completely at ease. Special thanks to Judith, Alicia, Fernando, Andrés, Juan, and the chefs – their dedication and care made our stay unforgettable. The quality and abundance of food, both day and night, was incredible. The staff are not only professional but genuinely wonderful people, and they make all the difference. If you are hesitating about choosing this hotel, rest assured – you will not regret it. Everything here is unbeatable. Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay; we will definitely be back!

"Great place !… (but room for improvements)"

XQ is undoubtedly a fantastic hotel, located right on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. The staff, from reception to the bar and restaurant, are all wonderful, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The pool area and views are simply gorgeous. We have had the pleasure of staying here three times in 2022, and while the hotel is excellent, the very high price leaves room for some improvements. The buffet, for example, has declined slightly in quality and does not fully reflect the hotel’s standard. It might be worth considering offering rooms without half board and focusing on a quality à la carte restaurant instead. The à la carte lunch is excellent, so why not extend this option to dinner? During our third visit in November, the pool was not sufficiently warm. On the jacuzzi side, an unpleasant odor from nearby trash made it difficult to relax, and although the jacuzzi was warm, the bubbles were not functioning. Finally, despite visiting three times within a year, we were allocated a room with a smaller balcony and not the best view. While all premium rooms are beautiful, a little extra attention to returning guests would be appreciated. Overall, XQ is a remarkable hotel, and these improvements could make an already wonderful experience truly exceptional.

"Good with room for improvement"

A lovely family hotel with welcoming atmosphere and very comfortable, recently renovated premium rooms. Buffet breakfast and dinner feature excellent quality products. The staff are very friendly, though few in number, which unfortunately makes the overall service feel more like a three-star hotel. Parking requires advance reservation due to limited availability. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful, but often crowded, and the sea is not very clear.
