"Great Atmosphere and Service, but Salty Mains"
We had a lovely time at Yaku. Yobe and Darwin were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. The lime chamomile sour was outstanding, and the salad was fresh and delicious. The live music added a charming touch to the overall experience. Our only disappointment was with the main dishes — the cuy and quinoa risotto were both overly salty and lacked a variety of flavors.
"Worst Dining Experience of Our South America Trip"
This was by far the worst restaurant experience we had during our entire 30-day trip through Peru and Chile. I ordered the llama, which was completely bland and flavorless, while my boyfriend had the guinea pig — unfortunately, it led to the only case of food poisoning we experienced on the whole trip, just two hours later. To make things worse, local musicians not affiliated with the restaurant went from table to table asking for money, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Overall, the restaurant is overpriced and simply not worth it. If you're looking for a better option, I highly recommend Nuna — it's more affordable and the food is significantly better.
"A Must-Visit Culinary Gem in Cusco – Don’t Miss YAKU!"
During our visit to Cusco in April 2025, YAKU came highly recommended — and it absolutely lived up to the praise! From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the exceptional service and delicious food, everything was spot on. We dined on the beautifully decorated patio, which was magical in the evening with twinkling lights, cozy heaters, and the added charm of live music. The service was attentive and friendly, and every dish we tried was flavorful and satisfying. If I return to Cusco, YAKU will definitely be on my list again, and I’ll be recommending it to anyone traveling there. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, this place is a must-try — you won’t be disappointed. P.S. Their pizza is absolutely fantastic!
"Average Food, Confusing Service – Not Worth the Price"
Our experience here was just okay. The food was average — nothing particularly memorable and certainly not worth the price. The waitress got my order wrong, even though I clearly pointed to the item while ordering. She later insisted it was my mistake, which was frustrating. On the positive side, the craft IPA was excellent, and the chocolate brownie dessert was truly delicious. However, a waiter tried to steer us toward ordering dessert from a separate café menu he was promoting, claiming it was cheaper. It felt a bit odd and unprofessional, so we politely declined. Overall, not the best experience. Wouldn’t rush back.
"Fresh, Healthy Lunch with Great Service at Yaku"
We visited Yaku for a light and healthy lunch and were very pleased with our experience. Both salads were fresh and flavorful — the Caesar salad, in particular, was excellent. The lemonades were refreshing, and the dessert was a perfect sweet finish. The service was incredibly attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. The only downside was the state of the bathrooms, which could have used a bit more attention. Overall, a great lunch spot in Cusco. 4/5!
"A Delicious Introduction to Peruvian Cuisine"
This is my first time in Peru, and I had no idea how quickly I would fall in love with Peruvian cuisine. The food here was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Zendaya, our waitress, was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. Whether you're dining with family or traveling solo, this is a fantastic place to enjoy a great meal in Peru. Highly recommended!
